Up for auction is a very original documented mileage 1963 Avanti. The paint on the car is very faded, paperwork from the west coast back in the 70's. The miles are documented and true. I have a receipt from JC Penny's back in 1976, miles was at 75914. The tires on the car are still the original JC Penny tires, still with a lot of tread, but obviously would need to be replaced to make it a better driver. I took 84 pictures of the car showing every angle, the body is very straight, and the doors shut tight, trunk and hood shut nice, and line up great. All the glass on the car is the original PPG (front is a sunshade), chrome bumpers will clean up nicely. I am missing the headlight glass for both lights, and their is an interior strip that runs above the passenger door (headliner) which is missing. The middle headliner is photoed outside of the car. The wipers, radio, and a/c work. The a/c blows cool, not cold. The heater core has been bypassed, the oil is fresh, and the battery is brand new. The front drivers side turn signal is cracked, but still works. The engine on the car runs very smooth, shifts good, brakes are decent, power steering turns smooth. The underside of the car is rock solid, the trunk has the original rim, tire, and jack. I also have 3 service manuals that go with the car. Overall, this is a great restoration candidate, the body wouldn't need much to make it perfect. I think the way that it is would get as much attention at a show as a fully restored car. I didn't want to clean anything on the car, it has tons of patina! The seats are in great shape, just a small 3 inch tear on the piping, bearly noticeable in pictures. The dash has a small "fingertip like" cut in the dash, bearly noticeable. The glovebox mirror is nice, all interior lights work, tachometer doesn't work.
