Vehicle Detail
1991 Volvo 240 wagon. Car has 131,000 that is documented through repair orders and the original maintenance manual. The car had speedometer replaced when one year old in 1992 at 16,422 miles at the Volvo dealership in Denver. This is documented in the manual and shown in photo. The car now shows 115,400miles for a total of 131,822 . Car runs very smooth and strong.Transmission shifts nicely. There are good Michelin tires, new windshield. Oil and filter are new. There is an upgrade of a Sony CD player, radio. It has a roof rack and the 3rd seat option.Maintenance book is stamped the last time at 75,000 miles but there are repair records after that. There are a couple cracks on top of dash covered with a dash mat.The original family owned until 2006. Last 6 years was a second car for a woman with new Lexus. She only drove 14,000 miles total for the last 6 years. There was new timing belt and all new Volvo belts done 20k miles ago. This car is ready for many miles more of safe, reliable, economical service. I reserve the right to end auction early as it is for sale locally. On Jul-17-12 at 09:03:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a few more photos, the car has the nice original Volvo mudder mats, you can see how clean carpet is also.I took a picture of the underneath of the car so you can see it is not rusty. On Jul-17-12 at 19:47:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Car does not appear to have been used for pets. The lighter and ash tray have not been used by smoker and no evidence of burn holes on seats or carpets. You also can be confident it runs well and should be ready for a journey if you decide to drive home.On Jul-19-12 at 10:36:35 PDT, seller added the following information: First of all thanks for the interest.I have had over 600 people view this auction in 3 days, I have been overwhelmed with questions and emails. The car is currently only at $2,000. Everyone is still interested and inquiring. I expect this car to keep going rising in price and maybe the questions will become more valid to people who may really be interested in trying to buy at a price that is close to the price that a good lower mileage wagon on ebay is bringing. I am not able to answer all the questions now. Many places in the United States are too wet and too much salt, etc. to keep a car like this.Colorado cars are better for rust, people think snow for here, but do not know on the plains it is semi-arid and there are cactus growing wild. One of the main questions that many people seem to have is about the Air conditioning and heater. the A/C does blow cold and the heater is fine, fan is strong. People seem to want to know if the car is like new,it is 21 years old and 132,000 miles not 20,000 miles.Having said that the mileage on this car is pretty low for the age and the car is way above average compared to most 240's. The car really has an engine and transmission that perform like you would expect from a good 240 with 132K miles. The car does not smoke or leak engine or transmission oil. The oil and filter are changed and new,Brakes work good, belts and hoses good.Overdive on the transmission is good, all electric windows work. The car should run fine for many miles. I do not have a problem if you buy and fly here,I will pick you up from DIA. I am comfortable that the car will drive you home, but it is your call,no guarantees (do not know why it would not make it). Every even decently 240 went over 200k. I believe this one is no exception. I hope this answers some more of the questions people have and Good Luck bidding! On Jul-22-12 at 10:42:35 PDT, seller added the following information: This car is way above average compared to most remaining 240 wagons. These 240's are rapidly becoming more than an old Volvo, but are rightly taking there place as one of the most sought after collector cars of this vintage. The later wagons are in the highest demand. If you get one that has a solid body and good motor and transmission, You have a Volvo with good Heart that is worth maintaining and will provide long lasting, reliable, safe, service. The good ones are going up in value. You see 240's selling on ebay from New York,Chicago, Minnesota or New Jersey. I wonder how many would show the underneath of the car rust wise from these places. This car is solid. Thanks for your interest
