Vehicle Detail
BMW 850ci V12 This is by far my favorite color combination which took me years to get a hold of, since this is the two-tone contrasted Dove Grey leather interior with black dash and doors which is very rare to find. Much rarer than the all gray dashboard, doors and leather. I've only seen 2-3 ever for sale with this color combo and maybe 1 that was still in good condition. Also an important note that this car does not have the wooden trim overlay on the dash trim that fades very badly. The interior of this car is like a time capsule, it is in absolute mint original condition with hardly any wear whatsoever. The pictures where taken on an iPhone and do not do it any justice, plus I'm also not much of a photographer. The Mechanical condition of this car is excellent and has always been maintained with an open checkbook. The Exterior is a 9 out of 10 especially considering this car is almost 20 years old with original paint and no accidents. The wheels are Original 18" BMW aluminum machined finish M Parallels (not replicas) with Original spec Michelin Pilot Sport Tires in excellent condition. The only story with this car is that some years ago it was parked with the windows open in a garage when a fire alarm went off. The sprinklers got the seats wet with regular tap water. The owner at the time sued the insurance company to compensate him as a total loss and then he bought the car back. The car has no permanent water damage nor any related electrical damage, funny smells, stains of any kind, nor any body or mechanical damage. As the they say, you buy and drive the car, not the title. This is not comparable to buying a car with actual prior accidents or prior damage related to salt water or flooding of any kind. I was finally able to buy this car off a friend of mine in February of 2010, after many years of admiring it in his garage. The lower seat motors that slide the seat back and fourth stopped working many years ago and neither I nor the previous owner ever bothered to locate replacement motors for the seats, since the movement on the 850 is so limited anyway that the front seat is always up against the small rear seats. The little electric motors show up from time to time on E-bay and are only a $500 fix, if any wants to fix it. I also never found reason to fix it during the 2.5 years I've owned the car. The upper seat motors that recline the seat back and fourth work fine just as they should. Notable recent maintenance includes the front upper and lower control arms and bushings which have been replaced which is a common and costly repair on the 8 series to keep the car handling as amazingly as day one, for a heavy car it hugs the road exceptionally well especially at high speeds. BMW was very ahead of its time when they created the 850. I'm selling because I have too many cars, and since I've gotten into boating I do not have enough time to enjoy them. This amazing car deserves to go to someone's collection who will have the time to enjoy it. This is the very first time this 850ci is being listed for sale nationally and it will be sold to the best offer since I'm already listing it for quite a bit less than what I believe its worth. I'm looking for a quick sale since I really do not enjoy showing cars to people nor being a “salesman” I'd prefer to take a couple thousand less, than deal with a bunch of tire kickers or joy riders. You could pay 10K more for this same car without the title story if you prefer and "when" u find it. Come see and drive this car, you will not be disappointed. You can call me with any questions at 267-977-7373 during the DAY please, eastern standard time.
