1985 VW GTI1.8L FUEL INJECTED 5SP MANUAL This is my project 85 VW GTI. Mileage shows 102k. I got this car to redo it for a weekend warrior but i am now moving and this is not going with me, so here is a list of some of the things i have done and i think it will needOverall the car is in good shape, theres a spot on the drivers side rocker where someone was trying to fix it with fiberglass (see photo) not a hard fix at all. The car is Orange primer, kind of gives it a cool old school look. The interior is in very good shape for being 26 years old. I did remove the driver side door panel because it was bad, and as you can see the driver side bolsters need attention. All padding is there but the material is gone, could easly just have the bolsters redone. The rest of the interior is in great shape and all there. The card did have an aftermarket CD player that is now gone. All gauges and lights work perfect. I do still have the door panel i removed if you would like it, but i purchased a set of recaro door panels (for sale in another action) that i was going to use. Now for the engine. When i bought the car i had it up and running. It was running pretty good but needed a tune up. I let it sit for a little bit and went back out about a month ago to work on it, and now the car will not stay running. It will start and run for about a min, but when you give it gas it dies. I was told it is either a fuel pump or a vaccum leak (CIS injection is prone to vaccum issues) So this didnt bother me because i was going to ditch the fuel injection and go carbed with the car. SO this is how the car sits, it will start and run for a little bit but then it dies? I know it isnt a major issues because it still startsThe tires on the car are good, the breaks are good, EVEN THE E BRAKE still works!! That never happens!!! They are always broke!I just changed the oil, put new o rings on the injectors. This is a REALLY good project for someone because the body isnt trashed, the interior is in good shape for the most part. I really dont want to sell it because its such a good start but i just cant take it with me. I have to many other toys and this one just has to go. If you HAVE ANY QUESTION PLEASE ask!!!!
