My brother originally purchased this vehicle in 2007 from the dealer and I purchased it from him this year (though I have been driving it since he left for Afghanistan in 2010). The car has been regularly maintained through the local VW dealership and is up to date with service/maintenance. All four tires were replaced this past December, the 120K service was completed in March and the oil was changed on the 11th of July. All factory recalls have been updated by the dealership. The transmission is great and does not slip and the motor runs beautifully. If you haven't driven one before, know that VW Jettas drive smooth and fast. I hate to sell it, but I am moving out of the city and need to buy a truck. The exterior is in good condition with no rust damage and minor scratches and dents. The car was parked in Washington DC on the street and has been exposed to parallel parking damage (ie bumper scratches and door dings). The interior is also in good condition with no stains or major damage to upholstery. Some buttons on the radio console and the light console have the black coating worn away. There are also minor scratches on the interior door panels. All damage appears in the photographs. On Jul-13-12 at 13:45:41 PDT, seller added the following information:I wanted to clarify something regarding the mileage. When my brother and I exchanged the title, we made a mistake with the mileage. If you check the vehicle history report, on 3/17/2012 the state emissions recorded the mileage as 114,497. On 3/19/2012 when I registered the car the mileage was reported as 144,512. Despite clearly being a clerical error (as it is physically impossible to drive 30,000 miles in 2 days) the VA DMV will not correct the mistake as it was my mistake and not theirs. The true mileage is what is displayed on the computer of the car. I have been told by many people that this is not a problem as long as certain steps are followed when the title is exchanged.
