This car runs GREAT and I would not hesitate to drive it cross country tomorrow. The engine starts instantly first time every time from stone cold or hot. The car pulls away very cleanly from a cold start and immediately drives just as nice as you please. The transmission changes up and down perfectly. Reverse is also perfect. The brakes are excellent. The tires are excellent as is the exhaust, you have to check to hear the old girl running she is that quiet. The exhaust is all factory pattern. The paint is about 85% original in my opinion with the only touch up being down low in the rear quarter panels. The paint has been rubbed through to the original RR red primer in several spots, see picture of top of front fender. The interior is all ORIGINAL wood, leather, carpets and headliner. There are no split seams, rips or tears on any of the seats. The carpets are still very nice and presentable. There is a hole about three inches long in the headliner above the front passengers head, see picture. The veneers are all still very pretty though the finish is somewhat on the dull side. All the veneers are intact. Everything on the car works as it should, lights, heating, wipers et cetera. All of the four PWL`s work though some are a bit slow. All the glass in the car is excellent. There is a very slight weep on a power steering hose bot the PAS still works perfectly and the car has a very nice 'feel' on the open road. The engine makes no noise and has very good power. The oil pressure is good hot or cold. Even driven hard in 100 + degree heat she shows not signs of running hot at all. The engine is nicely original with the exception of a modern alternator though the original Lucas generator comes with the car. The generator needs to be rebuilt which is why the alternator was fitted in the first place. The car sits nice and squarely on the road and sits at the right height. There are just a couple of bits of corrosion underneath the car but they are an easy fix. There is some bubbling on the lower left and right quarter panel down low. Both of these areas were repaired about 18 to 20 years ago so I am told and I am inclined to believe that . The only other area of note is the left front torque box right behind the road wheel. The box itself is about 75% intact still but does have some rust through. This is a fairly easy area to get at and again a pretty straight forward and easy fix. As you see all the chrome and stainless is in excellent order. I encourage you to COME AND DRIVE THIS CAR! you will be glad you did. Any inspection is welcome. You will notice that the radio has been changed. I do NOT have the original I am afraid. An auxillary inline fuel filter has also been fitted which is a good thing in my opinion. The black leather on the dash capping rail has shrunk somewhat but there is a length of new black leather that comes with the car to do the job. As you see the car has been fitted with front seat belts already. The battery is a good quality heavy duty affair and is about three months old, the engine turns over beautifully and starts instantly. The right rear chassis rail that the battery sits on, which is usually rusted away badly on so many of these clouds and S types is as SOLID AS A ROCK on this car. The old girl still wears her original leather spring gaiters that she left the factory with nearly 50 years ago. There are two dents in the body work which skilled hands might very well pop out.
