Vehicle Detail

-AUCTION ENDS JULY 5th at 7:30PM PACIFIC COAST TIME-I am thinning the truck portion of my collection in order to focus on cars I'm receiving from my father. He is unable to enjoy them and they are cars that he has had since my childhood. This Econoline and my '64 Ford F-100 Short Bed that I'm selling at the same time here on eBay both need new homes. Well maintained and cared for by it's first owner for over 30 years. She was purchased new here in Portland Oregon by the ACME Glass Company and has now been in my possession since 2000. 1967 was the last year for this production line and these Pickups are very rare. She is well equipped with the large 240 cubic inch 6cyl and 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. Factory tinted glass, full gauges and even the original AM radio is working perfectly. 100% solid with NO rust issues. She was repainted once sometime in the late 1980's or early 90's but kept in the original color. I believe the total miles are 155,000 and to my knowledge, this is still the original engine and transmission, etc. The exterior, interior and drivetrain are all in very sound condition. The body and undercarriage are rock-solid. Being a Portland Oregon native it's whole life means that she was NEVER exposed to a salted road and has almost always been kept in-doors. A mid-range level repaint in the original color was performed over 20 years ago. There are numerous imperfections in the form of paint chips, light scratches and a handful of small dings. No body damage of any kind and never involved in an accident or collision. The tailgate was the only area to ever have rust so it was replaced several years ago and is a slightly different shade of red. Based on the years I've spent with this little truck I know her very well. My explorations have not found any previous abuses of bondo or any other body fillers. The bumpers, stainless moldings and trim are in very good 45 year old original condition. The glass is excellent. Her various character marks and overall patina tell the story of the gentle life she's had and add to her appeal. I would never restore this truck. She is in very good condition as she sits. One of the most original examples anyone will ever find. I receive more nice comments and waves from passers by in this Econoline than I do in just about any other classic vehicle from my collection. Even my mood gets a little better every time I walk into the garage and see her. But in the last 2 years I have put less than 100 miles on her. Someone else should enjoy her. Definitely cute and very fun to own.The interior is in excellent condition. The seats, headliner and padded dash are all in great shape. She has never been abused, altered or monkey'd with in any way. Absolutely every knob and switch functions correctly. All lights, speedometer, gauges, heater, wipers, horn, original radio and even the vintage General Electric CB are working properly. The windows roll up and down easily. The seats are still comfortable and there are seat belts for safety. The photos will tell the rest.As I mentioned earlier, I'm fairly certain the drivetrain is all original. I am primarily a Chevrolet enthusiast and have not checked the engine numbers, etc, on my Econoline. In case any of you are overly concerned about that detail, I will research the engine stampings and update the auction. The 240c.u. in-line 6cyl powers the truck well. She runs very smooth and holds great oil pressure. No lifter ticks, misses or abnormal noises. The carburetor was rebuilt this year. Runs cool at all times. The 3 speed manual transmission functions beautifully and the clutch is strong. The shift linkage, on the other hand, can be tricky at times. The 1st to 2nd shift requires skill and getting used to. It is my intention to have the mechanic that maintains my collection rectify this issue before releasing to the next owner. I've simply never put it on his list. The brakes stop correctly and evenly. The tires are brand new. The suspension still seems fine but in my opinion, there is excessive play in the steering. Possibly as simple as a steering box adjustment or worn suspension component bushings but I wanted to mention it. I don't have any drivability concerns and I always enjoy taking her on local errands and for occasional light hauling. These were not designed to be high-speed freeway cruisers. Maximum comfortable speed is 60mph and NOT more than 65. It almost never fails that when I offer a vehicle from my collection for sale I receive a question asking if it can be driven cross-country. My answer is always the same- NO, absolutely not. It just isn't worth putting these older vehicles in harms way. That answer has nothing to do with my faith in her reliability. It's just much safer and actually more cost effective to have transporter deliver to your front door. Bottom line: She is a hoot to sit behind the wheel of and use for local destinations. I will make brief comments under a few of the upcoming photos. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my truck in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the Econoline clearly and accurately. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the truck for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 5 days and is scheduled to end on Thursday evening, the 5th of July at 7:30PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the truck becomes no longer available. If you are OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES OR CANADA or if you are new to eBay with (0) or low transaction history, you must contact me prior to bidding. Everyone, PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my truck. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see 2 days before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my little Econoline and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. HAPPY 4th OF JULY. Thanks for your time, DAVE Everything in the interior is in very nice condition. . . . As I mentioned earlier, there are some minor chips and scratches due to her age but she's still very attractive. Even all of the lower areas of the body are excellent and rock-solid. . The body is very straight. As I clarified in the main description while describing the body and paint, the tailgate was replaced several years ago and is a slightly different shade of red. There is no rust. The primer was just applied to protect this area. . . . . All factory tinted glass is crystal clear. . . . . . Small dent by the passenger headlight is the only real dent she has. . . . . . . . . . Even the vintage driving lights work. . . . . . . All original hubcaps are in near mint condition. . . Yes, even the back up lights work. PLEASE NOTE- There is no damage where you see the primer. My father in-laws idea of protecting the tailgate pins. I couldn't get to him in time. . . . . . . Crossing the Columbia River the day I took all of these photos. Every gauge works perfectly. I believe the total mileage is 155,751 . . . . . . . . . . Of course the interior light works. . . . . This little toggle switch is for the driving lights and the headlights must be on for them to work. . Yes, the original AM radio and CB work perfectly. . . . . . . . . . The undersides are what we hope to find. Dry and 100% rock-solid. Any fluid drips I find on my garage floor are extremely minor. No corrosion and dry as a bone underneath. . . . Any place the light undercoating has worn away shows bright and shiny metal. The undercarriage is amazing. . . . . . Clear Oregon Title. Original owners manual, sales brochure from 1967 and a vintage calendar photo. She has been a proud member and mascot for my collection for a long time. I definitely have sentimental value and huge appreciation for this little flat-nosed Pickup. Her authentic and original appearance would be hard to replace or duplicate. These are becoming extinct in this condition and she is the very last of her kind. I will miss her. Thanks again- __________________________________________________________ Terms of Sale: 45yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my Ford Econoline honestly and to the best of my ability based on over 25 years of owning and driving classic vehicles. I have faith in the drivability of this truck and to my knowledge everything is in good working order per my written description above. I have free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I drive her locally without concern but she is 45 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected based on her age. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the truck for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable for deposit. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pick up or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company. They have handled my transport needs perfectly for the last 4 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will provide contact info at your request and assist with transport in any way I can. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1200.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
