I have owned this car for about six years. It is an older restoration that is good, but not great. (Read twenty footer.) Mechanically sound and runs very well, always starts and drives just fine, and the brakes are as good as they ever were. Motor is sound and does not smoke or leak fluids. Tranny works just fine and as you may know, is a non syncro first gear. Floor pans are good, and there are no rust holes that I can detect. It does have some body filler in the lower sash panels and in the rear fender areas. As far as I can tell this is a product of the restoration that was done maybe some twenty years ago. Interior is very nice with color matched carpet and seats. Dash is original and the steering wheel is original which is a plus. I have the side panel windows and the top framework, but no canvas top. Two toneau covers, one black that is in nice shape and one blue that is in need of a zipper. There is an extra Webber carb and manifold that will go with this car. I bought it with this carb on it and it was a handful to drive, so I refurbished the original Carbs and put it back to stock. This car has the Original 948 CC engine also. Most have been replaced with the 1200 CC version, but this car is as original as it gets when it comes to the mechanical bits. It can be left as is, and driven daily if you want, or you can give it a full restoration and have an excellent piece for shows and what not. My wife and I have had a ton of fun with this little car, and it always gets thumbs up and smiles wherever we go. I am currently restoring a ’62 TR-4 and need funds to complete it, so our beloved little Bugeye is up for sale. Email for questions. Additional pictures will be send upon request.
