T ROADSTER 'BLAST FROM THE PAST' RIDE A WHOLE LOT OF CAR! Ask any car guy - “What exactly do you find when you buy an old motor car?” You fulfill yet another fantasy as you listen to the ageless rumble of the engine and remember 'yesterday'! HISTORY OF FORD MODEL T ROADSTERS This whole thing really got big with Norm Grabowski in the '50's. The first cars were nicknamed, as was the custom of the day, "The Kookie Car" and were used in several TV shows and movies. Its first appearance was in the TV show '77 Sunset Strip. The stars were the car and a character named Kookie played by Ed Byrnes. The original cars were actual Ford Model T’s. These wonderful hot rods date back to the early '20's when Henry Ford mass produced his 'every mans' auto that you could get in any color as long as it was black. Back then, one guy passed another so he thinks he has to make his machine faster and tinkers with the engine, off go the fenders and any other unneeded parts to make the car lighter. Who needs bumpers, running boards, hoods............just need bare bones. Somewhere along the way, these cars got dubbed hot rods. The name stuck. For Harley guys and gals, the new cool had four wheels. It's genuine, fun filled with side by side seating, lots of rumble and plenty of power. Built for street or display, with all kinds of show power. Today the T is a living icon ready to take on any of today’s or yesterday's rides. THIS T ROADSTER This is a professional build with 3400 miles. It is a well thought out roadster, with comfort features not common to these cars. Many changes were made in order to accomplish this. It was a 4 speed. Not only was it hard to shift, it was no fun. In addition, I did the following in order to enjoy this awesome ride to it's fullest. NEW STEERING BOXTRANSMISSIONCOMPLETELY REDID AND REPOSITIONED THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS ONE IS NOT CRAMPED. THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM. THE COLUMN IS SECURED WITH HAND BUILT STEEL SUPPORTS AND POSITIONED JUST RIGHT. RECEIPTS FOR THE WORK THAT WAS DONE TOTALLING $1739 – THEY GO WITH THE CAR All of the lights and gauges work. The tires and wheels are in real good condition and have the right look for this roadster. The stereo is tucked under the dash and fits perfectly. There is chrome everywhere. No cleaning is necessary. It is all ready to display and enjoy. The brass up front adds magic. Look just beyond it and find the awesome Ford engine with its wild pipes springing into action. The dual carbs have Eldebrock air cleaners resting on top. This is what these cars are all about. This one sure has the look. The engine is quick and powerful, solid with a wonderful sound. The rebuilt transmission shifts quick and easy. Move over Harley owners. This one really looks like it is in motion even when standing still. Fifty years have come and gone.
