This is a beautiful 1988 Mercedes SL560 in fantastic all original condition with only 22835 miles. Car has never been damaged and clean carfax can be supplied. I am selling this car for my friend; it was his mothers and he took possession recently after her passing making this basically a one owner car (or at least one family owned car). From the owner: The car was purchased in March 1988 as a 60th birthday present from our father to our mother who recently passed away. She called it her “Birthday Buggy”. The car was treated very carefully. It was always garaged, and driven only in good weather; never in winter or rain. It was driven only by our mother and father; the kids had moved away by then. It was normally only driven the her country club, church, friends’ homes, and during evenings out on the town. The family had several other cars so this was not the everyday driving vehicle.It was regularly maintained by the dealer, Dana Motors of Cincinnati. Besides normal maintenance its only other repairs involved periodic battery replacement due to infrequent use.Since taking possession of the car I had it thoroughly checked out and some repairs made. This included adjusting the cables for the convertible top, performing the 30,000 mile service, carb adjustment and replacing some engine insulation on the hood. Records are available. The only known existing problem is that the vent system does not flow air through the two center vents. Air flows fine through the outer two vents and windshield defogger. Even in the summer heat of Houston it still blows PLENTY cold. As you can see in pics the car is laser straight and the paint shines like new (in 3rd pic that is just a light reflection on hood). Rubber and chrome are excellent. The interior is spotless save for some slight discoloration on drivers side seat from driver getting in and out (see pic). No rips or tears; console and steering wheel have no cracking whatsoever. Carpet is like new with no rips, tears or stains.. Both hard top and soft top are in outstanding condition as well. Original Becker audio system. All original manuals, tool kit and first aid kit. Clear Texas title. This collector grade car is being offered with a very reasonable BIN and is ready to be enjoyed. At 22835 miles it is the lowest mileage SL560 currently listed on eBay by almost 10,000 miles! Of course the car is available in Houston to be inspected.
