It's that time of year again - time for a convertible! And this all original Triumph Spitfire convertible will suit any collector. It needs a fan clutch and exhaust work, nothing major, but we have too many projects going right now. As far as we know, we're the third owners. It was a California car originally, and the owner dreamed of racing, so he added a four point seat harness and mounting points for a roll bar, but no roll bar. Then a few years ago, our friends bought it, moved it to Missouri and it was hardly driven because they were on the road as musicians most of the time. When they moved north, they started a family and this was the first thing to go to make room for a minivan. We snapped it up, and that was about four years ago. In that time, we've added about 2,000 miles. We just don't have the time to enjoy this car, and now we need the garage space for another project, so it's time to let someone else have all the fun. It has a 4 speed manual transmission, cloth seats in excellent condition, the tires are good, brakes are good, the top is fair, original, and will need replacing pretty soon. Since it's always been garage kept, there's no water damage from leaks. All of the original wood trim is intact. This car is ready to be driven away, not towed. On Jun-19-12 at 06:32:17 PDT, seller added the following information: *Someone sent an email accusing us of lying about the mileage since there is wear on the 35 year old carpet. This car is entirely original, right down to the UNWORN original clutch pedal and brake. If this car had an additional 100,000, or even 200,000 miles, the gas pedal would be shiny, and the clutch and brake pedals would be worn smooth. The hinges on the door would be sagging - they are not. There is NO wear on the striker plate. It still has the ORIGINAL tires with matching spare! Furthermore, the windshield is not pitted, which would be another telltale sign of higher mileage.
