You are bidding on a 1959 early first year production, Fiat 1200 Cabriolet Pininfarina, chassis # 000075. This vehicle is a one owner car. It has stayed in the same family since 1959, for the last 53 years. The owner, a lady from Grosse Pointe (Detroit) Mi, went to Turin Italy to visit the Fiat factory and ordered 000075. The Fiat was delivered through a Fiat affiliated dealership, Italian Motors Inc in Detroit. The car has 51004 ORIGINAL miles on the odometer. It was garaged all its life. The car has various nicks, scratches and dents scattered throughout the body. Sometime in its life, the floor boards were replaced and the car received a respray. The undercarriage present some normal light surface rust, otherwise the car is rust free and very solid. The bright work is original and in excellent shape for its age except the chrome trim around the lower part of the windshield and the ornamental front hood chrome trim which as a few chips and a thin fracture line in the metal (see pictures for details). The original soft top has a couple tears and the rear plastic window shows some discoloration but is still totally serviceable. The car is also equipped with the tonneau cover when the top is down. The interior is very tidy and sports all the original gauges down to the original radio and speaker (sorry no stereo sound effect here!). The glass is original all around with all windows etched with the matching vin#. It has two light scratches on it that can be probably buffed out. The 1200cc engine ticks over beautifully, runs smoothly and silently. It has its original air box and carburator. The car is shod with classic Michelin XZX tires with almost new thread. The spare is the original white wall Pirelli. The drum brakes and pads are virtually new and the master brake cylinder was rebuild and new brake lines installed. The brake pedal feel a little spongy and could use some fettling. The right side blinkers do not function, they will need some sorting out. The car comes with the original set of Fiat tools and jack, the original set of keys, various owner's manual, brochures and documentation, extra parts, 2 sheep skins...etc...(look at pictures for details). I even have the extra 1959 original title. This is a solid driver overall. They are a few nice driveable 1200 Cabriolet out there...this is one of them. Don't miss this opportunity!
