Vehicle Detail
For your consideration: A 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser. I purchased this vehicle from the original owner in 2003 with about 73 thousand miles on the odometer. It now has 216,124. In September last year (2011) I was traveling on the freeway behind a Chevrolet Tahoe, when the rear glass of the Tahoe blew out and the shattered glass sprayed the front of this Land Cruiser (L/C) with shards of glass. The damage sustained to the L/C included a cracked front windshield and chips to the paint & a chipped driver’s side headlamp. The other party’s insurance company determined the cost to repair the vehicle would exceed the actual value of the L/C. Therefore, offered a settlement, which I agreed to. As a result the insurance company reported the L/C as a total loss to the CA DMV. The L/C retains a state of California salvaged title issued in my name. The only repair I had completed to this vehicle since the incident is to replace the front windshield – no kidding! The damage obtained resembles that of spending a brief moment traveling behind a semi-truck throwing up sand over a mountain pass. The bug deflector did an excellent job of keeping the damage to a minimum. One would find it hard to believe that this vehicle was deemed a total loss after inspection, as it appears to fall within the realm of normal wear and tear. I will work with all bidders to make arrangements for any inspections. It retains all original body parts & paint as it came from the factory. This vehicle has been meticulously maintained. The timing belt has been replaced @ 186,000. Prior it was changed at around 100,000. All maintenance has been completed in a timely fashion. My wife was the primary driver of this car so I made sure the maintenance was not ignored. The coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, oil & differentials have always been changed and or flushed as prescribed by the factory. Recently the front shocks & rotors have been replaced as well as the brake pads. I have a thick file to refer to, regarding the care of this vehicle. It does need an oil change (which I may have done), and will probably require new tires prior to the winter months. The drive train operates smoothly & is without any issues. The L/C has never been abused, in other words it has never been driven in conditions for which it had been designed. It has served as a grocery getter, mall transport and vacation traveler. This vehicle, in spite of the unfortunate event which occurred, still presents much better than most cars of this age and mileage. Options include: *CA Emissions *Leather trim Package *Third Rear Seat *Power Moonroof *Convenience Package; rear Wind Deflector / Roof Rack / Running Board / Drop Hitch (tow Package) *Chrome Wheels w/locks *Wood Dash I do expect this vehicle to be picked-up within 7 days of auction's close. I will work with shipping representatives and even meet the auction's winner at the Sacramento Airport, with advanced notice. On Jun-15-12 at 11:21:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction to above: Vehicle to be picked up as soon as possible, after cleared payment (hopefully within 7 to 10 days).
