Vehicle Detail

I have up for auction what I believe to be a 1970 Scout 800A as in most small town the year on the title was put down as 73 by Mabel down at the DMV because the previous owner couldn't remember and didn't want to drive all the way back the ranch to check. I purchased this scout at a 4-H auction, simply because the person I was bidding against was going to sell it for scrap! I can't tell you what I thought about that plan I'd get kicked off Ebay. I believe this Scout spent most of its life as a hunting or feeding vehicle on a ranch near Fort Stockton Texas, after the auction was over I put gas in the tanks to try to fire it up with no luck. I primed the carb float reservior hit the key and BAMN! the V-8 roared to life I even got to check the gears and tranny a little it moved under its own power. All the glass is in great shape! I know the brakes work great because towing it to my house I stopped the Scout and the 1/2 ton truck that was pulling it. Now here's the run down as you can see from the pictures I don't think it has one straight body panel on it, the passenger floorboard has a crack not rust a crack! the rest of the floor pan is bullet proof(speaking of bullets If I picked up one I picked up at least 500 22cal bullets while vacuuming out the inside!) I am not a big enough Scout expert to know much about it I will answer any questions to the fullest of my ability. An example would be It has a V-8 but I don't know for the life of me which one. so you Scout Gurus sing out I will put your info in the question and answer session. Another example I was told these had Dana 44's under them but I have no way of knowing that and would not claim that it does. What I have done is include pics of both front and rear axles. Please somebody that loves these things buy it and restore it, I do know it can be a solid foundation for a project of your choice, but make no mistake it a project, but a great one I can't even begine to describe how that V-8 sounds when it busts off! If you have any questions please contact me here first and after business hour at four 3 two five five 3 7 zero six 7. I reserve the right to end the auction as the vehicle is for sale locally, I will contact high bidder before I do so.
