Vehicle Detail

1973 Porsche 914 1.7 Car runs strong and is the perfect daily driver at 30 MPG. The seats have cloth inserts to keep you from scorching your skin in the summer and freezing in the winter. This 914 handles corners well due to the addition of a front sway bar and rear performance springs. The steering is tight, just as it should be. Brake upgrades include large calipers in the front, a 19MM master cylinder, and ATE performance fluid. This car stops straight and the brakes don't fade under stress. Your favorite tunes are delivered to you through the updated AM/FM/CD player and 4 wide range Sony speakers. Tires are upgraded to super sticky Yokohama 195/60R15s with plenty of tread left. The distributor includes a Pertronix electronic ignition so there are no points to worry with and the coil is upgraded to a high output unit. This car is not cosmetically perfect, but its the perfect daily driver or weekend trip car if you continue to maintain it as I have. The paint has scratches here and there and the body has minor rust in the usual places, but the frame is solid with no body flex. The doors open without any rubbing and close with a solid thump. These are all normal things you would find on a car this age in good shape. This car was hit on the driver's side rear around 1984 and there's still a small crinkle in the trunk floor, but the body is straight and the trunk opens and closes properly. The car shines and is beautiful, but up close you will see the minor flaws. It's not unusual for someone to come up to me and ask to take pictures of this car when I'm out and about. Although I've replaced all the gaskets in the engine, there's the usual 914 oil drip wherever it's parked. I check the oil frequently and don't need to add oil very often. I have all receipts from parts purchased over the past 10 years and I keep this car garaged and covered when not in use. This car is absolutely fun to drive. I'm selling it because it just doesn't get driven often enough (too many toys) and this car needs to be driven. Other upgrades include a 911 clutch, solid engine mounts, 911 transmission mounts, stainless steel heat exchangers, Monza performance exhaust, POR-15 lined fuel tank, stainless steel fuel lines, front mounted fuel pump, Jwest blade type fuse block, Bilstein shocks, Weltmeister tie down loops, and a Weltmeister short shift kit. Buyer of course is responsible for any and all shipping cost's. I will work with you and help in any way I can, I have a trailer and can deliver within 200 miles for a reasonable fee or deliver to shipping company etc. Cash, cashier's check, or funds transfer only. No PayPal or credit cards please. Deposit of US $2,000.00 within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment required within 3 days of auction close.
