Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my prized 1965 Mustang coupe. This car spent over 2 years being meticulously restored, it's one of the nicest 65s you'll find on the road. I've had compliments from the owner of a well-known Mustang parts supplier and a classic Mustang specialist mechanic, both have said it's one of the nicest coupes they've seen. The 289 V8 is original, it and the original Ford Cruise-o-matic automatic transmission are numbers matching. It has the original black and yellow California plate. It is a rust-free California car. Brakes are power assist, steering is manual. It has a Ford silver blue metallic exterior and a black interior with new Pony seats, deluxe center console, deluxe glove box, and a custom-made deluxe-style sweep speedometer bezel. Every inch of this car has been refurbished. The engine compression is excellent with no leaks, smoke, or hesitation. It starts up instantly and runs smooth. It was stripped down to the block and anything that needed replacing or repairing was done. The transmission was overhauled, as were the brakes. The carb was rebuilt. The entire front suspension system was replaced and new tires were added. A new exhaust system was installed to match up to the original exhaust manifolds. All of the engine wiring harnesses were replaced with new ones. A new radiator was installed. The body was stripped down to bare metal, and 4 months were spent on metal body work and paint. Once done, the front glass was replaced with safety glass, a new headliner was installed, sound insulation was added under the carpet, all new weather stripping was installed, all new door internal parts were added- window regulators, lock cylinders, lock mechanism, door hinges and strikers. New door panels were installed as was the rear interior deck. A new heater and blower system were installed. The gas tank and fuel lines were replaced. Any interior and exterior hardware that could be refurbished was. If that wasn't possible, it was replaced with an original, correct Mustang salvage part. If that still wasn't possible a high-quality repro was used- which there are not a lot of. In short, this car was carefully restored and reassembled- this was not a fast turnover job to flip a car on the cheap, or a heaped together pile of Chinese knockoff parts, a lot of care was put into it, it's a truly special Mustang. There are many other new parts not listed here. I have nearly all receipts, the amount of money in this Mustang is far greater than the asking price. It comes with an original owner's manual and a photo book that details the entire restoration. More photos available on request, please ask any questions you may have, I encourage any prospective buyer to see it in person. Car is listed locally as well.
