1981 MERCEDES 300D SEDAN NO RESERVE Up for sale is a decent, very well maintained 1981 Mercdedes 300D sedan. It is Ivory with a Tan interior. The car has rust as you see. the worst on the left fender where it is rusted through the fender. The engine runs excellent, transmission shifts well. This car has power windows, power locks. The sunroof and windows work excelt 2 right windows (switch no good). The power/vacuum locks work. The climate controls work fine, heat is blazing hot- AC works but needs a charge (hasnt been charged in 6 yrs). The brakes are excellent. The tires are all matching michelins about %70 tread. The suspension is excellent, no shakes or rattles going over bumps or turns. All tail and head lights work. Cruise control works. The left front fender is rusted through, the rest of the body is good for the age. The car leaks no fluids. Belts look good. The exhaust is excellent, no leaks. muffler recently replaced. The last owner had no pets and did not smoke, cigarette lighter was never used! car had 90k when it was bought. car drove 30k or so on WVO until sources dried up and car sat. someone bought the odometer off us and gave his one from his 85. WE PLANNED TO TAKE THIS OUT AND PUT INTO ANOTHER CAR BUT WANT TO SEE IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN THE CAR ITSELF OR IF THEY WANT WITH CONVERSION KIT READY TO GO. the davco filter by itself is $600, the greasecar kit as you may know is another 1200, plus add the hours of labor..... greasecars stock filter is complete junk. filters clog every 100-500 miles. who needs that? the davco will get you 1000-10000mi depends how well you pre filter. you can add another system to suck from the drum through in house filters-diesel fuel filter into the tank too so you wont need to carry WVO around home etc.... davco filter uses fleetguard filters you can get for about $12/ea The car was bought to do a WVO Grease conversion by an engineer. He bought a greasecar conversion and found out many flaws in its design so modifications were made to make it withstand any temperatures without the WVO gelling or clogging fuel filters. DAVCO 234 filter in back. hose in hose lines, all double insulated. sight glass/strainer up front to see whats going through. fuel and temp gauge for WVO tank. switch to control flush, diesel or WVO fuel.
