1989 MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE ** HIGH QUALITY NO ORDINARY AUTOMOBILE! 'Just like new' is frequently used and abused. Nothing is just like new if it is used even if it has just a few miles on it. The Mustang GT convertible offered here is an excellent example of a premium GT Mustang convertible. It needs nothing. There are a lot of '89"s out there that don't come close to this quality. This car passes strict evaluation and inspection processes. HISTORY OF FORD AND MUSTANG Henry Ford.............his Company and his name reads like a mystery novel. So many ups and downs, success and failure. Henry Ford was a fireball of energy. He refused to accept any one or any thing that was just average. He was ruthless at times, a 'do it my way' leader or go away and leave me alone. His drive and leadership kept his employees on their toes. He was like a magnet, his car and his people were the very best. The clock stopped by 1940. His cars were worn looking and dated. The Company was falling apart at the seams. Too rapid growth left little time to structure and plan for the future. Henry's son Edsel had taken over the company when tragedy struck, he died suddenly in 1943. At age 80, Henry was forced to take the Company back.........it proved to be an impossible task. Something needed to be done.....NOW. Edsel's son, Henry II, had just been discharged from the Navy, full of ambition and energy. He was given the job of turning the company around. He took over as President of Ford Motor Company. He demanded the best, an iron and steel fireball, just like his grandfather. The Company was a sinking ship, losing ten million a month - an enormous amount. THERE WAS ONLY ONE OPTION -- TURN THIS MONSTER AROUND -- AND TURN IT AROUND HE DID. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. HE PROVED TO BE ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL LEADERS IN AMERICAN HISTORY. His first big and most important move was in 1948, the year of his grandfathers death. He introduced the 1949 FORD. A wonderful motor car, so exciting it was advertized as a car that will knock your hat off. One hundred thousand orders were taken the very first day. All three radio networks offered free advertizing. The '49 Ford was an instant hit. In addition, billboards were plastered all over the country. The story goes on. Once again, Ford was ready to fall off the planet. There was little or no hope. A brand new car was introduced. The horse collar Edsel became the laughing stock of the industry. The glory was gone and the early '60's spelled the end of Ford. The red ink dried and Ford had lost $ 250,000,000 -- a staggering loss. Once again, NOW was the time and all stops were pulled. Another brand new car was on stage and ready to excite the whole world. It proved to be the biggest success ever. At the time, no one could believe what happened. The MUSTANG was introduced to the whole world. No one knows for sure how the magic began. We do know for certain.............it happened. It was April 17 1964, introduction day of the brand new 1965 Mustang. The world had a love affair with the Mustang. One million Mustangs were sold in the first two years. Mustang records have never been broken. Not much has changed. The sporty, high performance, economical Mustang still races ahead of all competition, as exciting as ever. It has been 47 years and counting and the Mustang is still Number One in the list of the 10 most desired cars in the world. Classic Mustangs are a wonderful investment. THIS MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE This is no ordinary automobile. It is a Carolina car with zero rust. Every inch of this car reflects its low mileage. From the dash, seats, carpets, pads, engine and engine compartment, body, top, bumpers and under carriage, it is an extraordinary automobile. It is completely ready for a summer of fun. These cars are just beautiful with the top down or set the cruise control and turn on the ice cold air for a wonderful ride on a just too hot summer day. The car is quiet, unlike most convertibles, with the air on and the windws up. The car rides, drives and handles as close to new as possible. There are no shakes, rattles or squeaks. It is very tight, especially for a convertible. The windows fit right and hug the top correctly. .It is an absolute pleasure to drive. There are no surprises. The exterior is straight as an arrow. The paint is brilliant with great depth and clarity. Every body part fits correctly. There are no sags, scrapes or areas of concern. You just do not find them like this that have not been restored, plus it pulls ahead of most of the ones that have been restored. The red interior is so close to new. There are no worn areas, rips or tears. This is the very best color combination. The interior and exterior compliment each other........red with white on white. The engine is responsive, very quick and powerful. It goes through the gears exactly like it should. Its sound demands attention; yet it is not noisy, just a smooth rumble. Open the hood and you will find it complete, nothing is missing. Everything is in place. It is spotlessly clean as is the whole engine compartment. Buy with confidence. Where do you find one like this. Low miles, the right color combination, ready for the road and collector car quality. REMEMBER TO PLACE YOUR BID. This is a 7 day listing which will end Wednesday June 6 at 8:55 PM EDT! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Below you will find 67 detailed pictures showing the entire car.....
