Vehicle Detail

It pains me to sell this car, I looked for several years to find a REAL S-code 390 factory 4-speed Cougar and boy let me tell you are they hard to find! the paint is rubbed off in so many places the car looks worse than it actually is, the body is mostly solid(NOT a rusted out crapper) and the body is very straight. Here is the VIN breakdown 7: 1967 F: Dearborn, Michigan (assembly plant) 93 code: XR7 hardtop S: Optional 390 4V GT Prod #: 88096 Data plate breakdown (Body) 65B: XR-7 Hardtop (Exterior) Y: Inverness Green (Interior) 6G: Dark Ivy gold leather 13D: April 13, 1967 (date the car was sheduled to be assembled) (DSO) 53: Oakland, California Axle: 1 (3.00:1) Trans: 5 (4-speed manual) The car has had 3 total owners including myself. I bought it from the second owner a couple years back and he had the car since 1978. The car is still wearing whats left of the original Inverness green paint. The car was covered and stored in/out of a barn for the last 20 years, the second owner parked it because it was too fast for his wife - thankfully having covered it preserved the body pretty well. that being said there is some of the "typical" cougar stuff going on here read on-> the body is VERY straight and aligned very well, the doors shut with one finger and don't rattle all over the place, the wheel lips are solid, no rust in the cowl, no rust in the drip rails, no rust in the trunk channels/rails(see pictures), and no rust around the rear window - trunk lid has a good amount of rust, the trunk floor has a few pinholes but they are grouped together and the trunk is mostly solid so it can definately be saved and I don't see any need to replace the pan. The nose of the hood has some filler(like all cougars it seems) and the only cancer on the body itself that I can find is the driver rear quarter and it will need a small patch(see picture). The underside of the car is not terrible but it will need front floor pans and maybe a patch on the rear passenger side floor - the trans tunnel is nice and solid and the torque boxes are also solid. This is a very simple car to repair the rust on, this is nothing like an east coast car, the wheel lips and rockers are nice, door jambs and sills are in great shape. Obviously this is a restoration candidate, and is a great way to get into a rare muscle car without breaking the bank. The engine has low miles on the sencond rebuild of its life and is original (per the previous owner) I can send you pics of the block number but I couldnt read it myself. It still wears the "S" code intake manifold and the trans is the original(ppo). The rearend is also original (I uploaded a picture of the # from the rearend) The car also has the big block traction bars on it still(seemingly impossible to replace). I drove the car out from its resting place of 20 years and right onto my trailer - the engine sounded VERY healthy and the front end was nice and tight, trans shifted good and everything. with a little starting fluid and a jump this car will fire right up. obviously since its been sitting for so long the brakes are questionable and I would assume you'll want to winch it on your transporter to avoid any rogueness. The car has headers on it now(and has since the 70's) but I still have the original GT manifolds for the car (see pictures) - I also have all of the original badges for the car. This is a very worth while project car - it needs a lot of love but it will pay off, life changes are the only reason that I'm selling it.. it took me 6 months to finally decide to part with it. give me a call if you have any questions or want to make an offer - or just submit your offer here. Clean and clear title in my name, please read my feedback - I am an honest guy and easy to deal with. Thanks - Jeremiah 503-508-4878 ADDED INFO 5/29 : I have a truck and trailer so I can deliver it just about anywhere on the west coast for the cost of fuel just give me a call and I'll let you know - Also I have no problem assisting your transporter with loading if necessary. Thanks for your interest - Jeremiah
