65 VW: Restored by Orlando Certified BMW mechanic. Car was completely disassembled and everything was replaced, all seals, wiring harness, rubber, etc. Car is painted 2008 Lexus Brandywine Mica (metallic dark brown) found on the 2008 small suv. Engine is a rebuilt 1500 with dual carbs and headers. Interior was just completed by Hilltop Motors in Jacksonville, FL. They are the local VW restoration guys. Brakes were upgraded to front disc, EMPI steering wheel, Empi Wheels, SCAT drag fast shifter, New headliner done in the (OEM style) not the cheap route. Vent door windows were shaved and converted to single glass as you can see in the pics. New door panels, visors, rear view mirror. Its a showcar for the most part...now just sitting in the garage. I also have many of the original parts, radio, roof rack, etc. The front beam was also narrowed 4 inches and can be raised and lowered (so the front wheels sit within the wheel wells) This car has probably only seen 5,000 miles since restoration was complete.
