Vehicle Detail
1915 Maxwell needing complete restoration- this auto is mostly complete-engine is free and has fired. Offering this at no reserve-model T's go for much more and this was arguably a better car, with more innovation. In 1910 the largest 3 automakers were Ford, Buick and Maxwell-yes, Maxwell! Appears to be a model 25-which put out 21 horsepower, again more powerful then a model T but certainly not a rocket.... Hate to sell her, but will never get to all the projects I have. Can join the HCCA with this car and have loads of fun touring! This is an easy restoration, in that there is not all that much wood and tin on the car. Best of luck on bidding and hope this makes somebodys day! (ps-no this was not Jack's car.... but who knows?) a couple of folks have asked if I can store the car-not a problem as long as car is paid in full at end of auction. also, yes overseas buyers can purchase, but be aware that it is about 30. to use a bank wire transfer with wells fargo and that paypal is 4% for overseas buyers-your choice). On May-31-12 at 18:02:58 PDT, seller added the following information: A Pipe, a Cigar and a Maxwell Posted on October 13, 2011 by David Greenlees These two young men don’t seem to have much more than a pipe, a cigar and a very stripped down Maxwell model 25 speedster. They appear to be near to the local Maxwell dealer, as part of the dealer’s sign is visible at the far left of the photo behind the banner. From the looks of this scene, they may have been involved in a fourth of July parade. Based on the radiator shell and after a bit of research, we think that this may be a 1914 model 25. That appears to be the first year for the 25 and the 1915 and later models appear to have a fully rounded radiator shell. Study the photo and you can see that SPEED was on their mind, as other than the horn on the back the seats and a few banners the only other piece of equipment they have is a speedometer. Sorry about that.... also starters were optional for several years after 1913 on the model 25, to better answer Tom's question.
