VolksRod bare metal chopped HOT ROD check out this rolling lil tribute to the days of Bonneville SALT FLAT racing and El Mirage Drylakes racing...this lil VW is heavily influanced by the traditional hot rods of yesterday...a vw built with traditional hot rod styling twist!!!....................... a mini-me hotrod.........it has a true 4.5 inch chopped HOT ROD bug with laid back windshield post Bonneville style.,the roof has been dropped down all the way around.. lots and lots of metal mods done here,,make sure you look at pics closely to see all the mods.....has the desirable guide 682 headlights....bare metal cleared over with PPG dc4000 clear .......... 1932 ford superbell 4" dropped axle/ split wishbones and reveresed eye leaf spring ..custom made front suspension/headlight mount/1940 ford front brakes with new shoes/wheelcyinders.hoses /lines ,and new drums/wheelcyinders and shoes in the rear...17" 1934 ford wire wheels.(goodyear tires in rear/excelsior in front)...(nevada motorsports adapters in rear to change to the ford 5.5 pattern)............... ....was told engine is 1500 sp(w/1600 barrels) it is stock,but runs great,starts up easy and doesnt leak like most vw's! trans shifts great too! empi header with custom header wrapped megaphone..sounds wild (almost sounds like a dragbike!).................... ...it has a 1964 roof (wider window post) with 1956 oval window rear section all carfully grafted on to a 1970 body/pan from the belt line up,,the body is super solid it has new heater channels/ and floor pans.....also,the title matches the body and pan,,,which is an IRS pan,,the rear contro l arms have been flipped to help correct negative camber which can happen when an IRS pan is lowered much..........................,,interior is nothing real special ,it has early bug low back buckets /stock rear bench seat,stock door panels. no headliner or carpet, and the dash has been "backdated" to look like an older bug.,,the steering column has been lowered and slightly set back for more room......beleive it or not, the interior actually has pleanty of room inside ,, so far it has only been to one car local car show since recently completed and there was a crowd around it all day! definitley an attention getter for sure!!! if you dont like attention, you may not want to buy this!! ...or just buy it and display it as art in your living room or showroom! .i in no way am impling this is a show car or race car, but just a fun lil hot /rat rod volksrod to take to car shows for enjoyment..no door glass (regulators there) turnsignals & gauges not hooked up. clean title in my name.. no trades. sold AS-IS ,nothing implied and if you have any questions ,please feel free to ask...... last week i had this car listed for what i feel it was worth at $8500.00 due to all the money invested and many months and months of hard labor involved. it didnt sell for that ,,,so i have drastically lowered the reserve and buy it now because i have no room to keep this lil hot rod and i need to free up some cash for my next project car.. , would like to sell...ready for my next project! 270-646-0554 On May-18-12 at 09:36:18 PDT, seller added the following information: *might* consider trade, but no junk please
