Vehicle Detail
1994, Low Actual Mileage ( 031,583) Fleet Maintained Rare factory built CNG (Compressed Natural Van) powered Chrysler Caravan Mini Van. To find out more about the use of CNG as a Vehicle Fuel please read my eBook entitled “The Secret of CNG or How I get 78 Equivalent MPG in My Vehicle!”. (It's available on the Amazon bookstore, and free during Memorial Weekend!). This NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) will save you tons of money at the pump depending on your proximity to CNG fuel. We bought this van about November last year from a dealer who purchased it from a State of California surplus vehicle auction. This van was formally used in the Motor Pool in Sacramento. It was our family's daily driver and saving us tons of gas money until a couple of months ago when, for liability reasons, our natural gas company shut us out of the only CNG pump in town. They have promised to build us a new public pumping station, but it's been dragging on and on and it seems like it could be another six months to a year out. For that reason instead of continuing to store this van I have decided to pass it on to someone else who may be able to take advantage of cheap CNG fuel. The van has been very practical to have in our family fleet as it seats seven people. The seats are removable and interchangeable for accommodating various loads. I.E. for hauling bulky items the middle seat can be removed, the rearmost seat moved to the middle and a huge cargo area can be created in back. I can thereby haul a washing machine and still fit 5 people! The Good: Engine runs great, transmission shifts smooth thru all gears. Tires and Battery are almost new. Interior is in good condition, no rips or tears in the original upholstery. Exterior has been professionally repainted because the factory paint as used in that year tended to peel off. There is no body damage with the exception of some holes in the roof that were used for mounting a radio antenna or something. The holes have been filled in and don't leak. Clean Oregon title, never been registered in Utah to my knowledge and tags good for at least one more year. The Not So Good: The A/C doesn't work (should be an easy repair, at least it came equipped with it!). The cover for the passengers airbag looks like it was mangled by somebody's careless application of their boots! There is a missing ash tray thing on the side of the middle seat and the right hand front speaker grille is missing some ribs in it. I had to replace the headliner which is a slightly different color than the original. (Grey instead of blue). The CNG tanks are expired but have inspection stickers on them and appear to be in great shape. There are only four tanks which limits the range to about 150 miles at 3600 psi. ( I only got about 120 miles because the pump I was using only dispensed gas at 3000 psi). Shipping: There are a couple of ways to save money here. First you are welcome to pick up the vehicle in person at anytime. Be aware however that it has less than half a tank of gas and the closest station is 72 miles away in Medford. We have a vehicle shipping facility in Medford, Oregon at which DAS picks up. Or I can transport the van to Reno or Sacramento which are only a few hours south of us. If I trailer the van, I only ask to be re-reimbursed for the cost of diesel both ways and possibly a Motel room. Terms: A down payment of $500 is required within 72 hours of close of auction. Remainder of funds to be deposited by wire transfer to my bank before delivery (shipment) of vehicle. Please feel free to ask any questions and Happy Bidding!
