Vehicle Detail
A very good friend of ours passed away a few years ago and due to the fact that we had several business & property dealings together, we ended up with his 1950 Olds rocket 88 that he was finishing. We had thought we would keep the car, but reality reared it's ugly head and due to the fact that a retired 70+ year old "old foggie", does not need another automobile. The car is Beautifull, and is in fantastic condition! He had spent several years and alot of $$ in restoring it, this car has been modified from its stock original condition and would probably be best described as a streetrod. The speedo indicates 91,000 mi, and i believe this is correct. We had the car up on a lift and looked it all over, not finding any rust, then taking over 50 photos, but will only include 24 or so in the ad. The car has been stored in a dry garage for the last several years, but has incurred a few very minor dings and chips, during storage. The car has less that 500 miles on it since the restoration, probably closer to 100 or less. The car is close to being completed, but there are some minor things that he did not finish. To start with, let me tell you what he did complete: New black paint, new rebuilt 303 engine, bored to 324 with Jahns pistons, mild cam, tri-power w/stromberg 97 carbs, mallory dual point distributor. Professionally rebuilt hydromatic trans, all new exhaust, front disc brakes w/ 2" dropped spindles. The interior is tuck & rolled naugahyde, new carpets, new headliner. All the gauges work except the water temp, and that is a 6 volt and needs to be changed to 12 volt. All exterior chrome is re-plated, and radio is a Sony w/ cd player. The door locks work from the outside, but we can not find the interior push buttors, but are still looking thru the boxes of misc. parts. Car still needs weather-stripping installed. It has a Vintage air AC and heater system that is installed but not hooked up as yet. The tires are new and still have the "nubs" on them. We see by the photos that the front end is rebuilt w/tie rod ends, and idler arm. We are happy to assist you in any way if you decide to ship, and we are located in Seattle, Washington, a major seaport city. to contact me call 206 322 3444, Ken
