Vehicle Detail
I have owned this 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser since December 2008, and it is a great vehicle. Throughout this time it has been my second vehicle, so I have only put about 6000 miles on it since then, but it could definitely also be a daily driver right now. The mechanics of this Cruiser are excellent; the motor, transmission, clutch and brakes are all very strong and solid. There are no issues with the suspension at all and the All Terrain BF Goodrich tires have years of life left on them [it could use an alignment]. As you can see from the photos, the interior is in good shape, with the only real issue being a tear/hole in the outside area of the drivers seat where you climb in. It doesn't bother me, as for most of the time I have had seat covers on the front seats. There is a Sony Explode CD player/stereo and sound system, with front door speakers and two rear 6x9s. I have mounted a fire extinguisher between the seats and there is also a vacuum gauge. There is also a CB radio, which is functional but I just never used it; I also have a 6 foot white antenna that attaches to the rear bumper for the CB. As you can see, this Cruiser is equipped with dual batteries, one of which I bought within the last 500 miles. I also have a full size, brand new spare tire that mounts in the back of the inside of the vehicle. The Cruiser has dual range four wheel drive and the low 4WD is very, very low. It works very well. Since I have owned the vehicle I have replaced the fuel pump, the master cylinder, had a complete tuneup, had the carburetor rebuilt including a new choke cable, had an entire new exhaust system installed, including the catalytic converter and the normal maintenance, like oil changes. All of the repairs were done at Import Authority in Tallahassee and I have receipts [the exhaust work was done at Midas]....this work alone totaled over $2000. There are only four minor issues with this vehicle. The first is that while it has an air conditioner and it seems like the compressor comes on fine, I have never had it serviced and it does not blow cold. My mechanic has said that switching it over and charging it [less than $175] would very likely fix the problem. The second is that some bubble rust has appeared at the bottom of the back deck and along the roofline on the driver's side, as shown in the photos. The third is that the motor is a bit louder than normal due to an exhaust leak. The leak is located at the rear of the manifold/engine and would be much more trouble [and money] to fix than it is worth. It is not that loud at all, but it is noticeable and I wanted to mention it. The fourth is that there is a small crack in the front windshield on the drivers side that I have not bothered to get fixed I love this vehicle and hate to sell it but it has become time to do so. Please email me with any questions. I have bought and sold many vehicles on eBay and have a 100% feedback rating, so bid with confidence.
