1961 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

1961 VW BUG in very good condition. Has older restoration with new seat covers, headliner, and carpet. The seats have the original horsehair batting beneath the seatcovers. It has 2 original wheels on the front and two wider chrome wheels and tires on the rear. The front has been adjusted to lower it and can be restored to the proper ride height by adjusting the torsion bars. Nothing has beed cut on or altered. If I kept it I would find two stock wheels for the rear and adjust the front back up again, but thats just me. There is no rust on this car, no rust in battery compartment, no rusty running boards, no rusty anything. NONE. All sheet metal is original, virgin rust free floor pan. European bumpers. There are four flaws in the paint. On the hood there are two ares where the paint has flaked off and POR 15 has beed added to prevent surface rust, one chip on left rear fender, small dent and paint chip on licence light cover.( see pictures) The Blaupunct radio works good on AM and so so on FM and the dash has not been cut so an original radio can be installed again. This probably has the original engine but I am not 100% positive. It is a single port engine. It runs strong with good compression and uses no oil. Those of you who know more about these may be able to help me determine wheter or not the engine is original, please contact me. It has been converted to all 12 volts and has Pertronix electronic ignition eliminating routine points and condensor changes. http://www.pertronix.com/prod/ig/ignitor/default.aspx The car runs and drives great, engine sounds good and the transmission shifts easily with all good syncros, and NO it does not pop out of gear. The car has a drip or two but no leaks. New Die Hard battery, good tires. This car has been garaged and carefully maintained and would make a dependable daily driver. Regular maintainence was just preformed with a minor tune and oil change ( Castrol GTX ) It needs nothing but regular oil changes, etc. This car does NOT quote, need a little tlc , it's good to go anywhere.
