Vehicle Detail
1970 Ford F100 Sport Custom Pickup VIN: F10YRJ35112 Local, Long-Term Owners – Virtually Rust Free Almost original right down to the hubcaps! Remember the bedtime story of “Jack and the Beanstalk” your Mama told you as a kid? How Jack went to town to peddle the family cow and returned home with a handful of “magic beans” instead of cash? We’ve been in the wholesale trade for the better part of two decades and over the years I’ve trained a select number of folks to go out and buy inventory for our business. Every so often I’m surprised by what Humphrey arrives back at the shop with, so you can imagine what I thought when he drove up with this nice, great running F-100 Ford pickup. Now, I don’t want to appear negative, but what we ideally want him to buy are LATE model trade-ins for our retail auto dealer clients (vehicles they can just put out on their front line after jacking the price up 30%) and a 42-year-old Ford Pickup, no matter HOW COOL, doesn’t fit that description. Please help Humphrey save his job and give this clean, great driving vintage Sport Custom your kind attention! Condition Take a good look at our photos. Even with just a casual glance you’ll quickly gather that this F100 was loved and well kept by a long-term owner, probably somebody’s Granddad. For those of you not familiar with the Pacific Northwest, we get our share of misty rain, but hardly ever any snow. At the first sign of a falling flake everyone panics and stays home. School is cancelled and business grinds to a stop from “sick” workers calling in. Truth is, our winter roads are rarely salted, so you’ll find very few vehicles with any real rust issues here. Please feel free to climb over, under and around this rig - I know you’ll come up smiling! The dash has full factory instrumentation including oil-water-amp gauges. Granddad added the two “floating” style compasses, an AM-FM tape player and the nice early-seventies Tachometer on the steering column. An under-dash Aftermarket air conditioning system was installed, but the compressor belt has been removed, so assume work will be needed there (the compressor pulley does turn freely). All the glass is in fine condition. A close inspection of the two-tone door panels tells me they’re also original and are very nice overall; no UV-induced vinyl breakdown. Same goes for the headliner and sun visors. The base of the bench seat has been replaced sometime in the past, but the original backrest is in fine shape. When you open the hood, you’re in for another nice surprise. This truck has a clean, great-running 360 engine. The very second you fire it up; you’ll know it was built to last! The Automatic transmission is very strong and I believe there are 3.25 gears in the 10-inch rear pumpkin. Both inside and out you’ll find very, very nice “Reef Aqua” (blue-green) paint. The wheels are wrapped with 235/75R15 radials with at least 50 percent remaining tread all around. We didn’t get a lid key for the second tank. Probably a good thing because when crawling under the truck I discovered the extra tank had been removed. Don’t have any idea why. I’ve also noticed the gas gauge if very intermittent Here’s how the VIN code and door data plate breaks down: F10 – ’70 Ford F100 4x2 Y - 360 Cu. In. engine (the air cleaner says 390 High Performance) R - San Jose, California Assembly Plant 17 – 3.25 Rear Axel Ratio Y/C – Reef Aqua Paint/Parchment Vinyl Interior G – Automatic Transmisson 5000 GVW, 170 Certified Net HP at 4,100 RPM The data plate shows it was delivered to the Seattle, Washington Ford Sales District 74 and had a June, 1970 build date. This has always been a locally licensed truck. Please feel free to email, text or call me with any questions. My name is MARK and my direct number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to come by to drive and inspect the truck after making an appointment. You may also make an offer before the end of the auction, as many of our vehicles sell to local walk-ins prior to the auctions conclusion. I always reserve the right to sell during this period. Please Note: WE will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new eBay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled and may do the same for negative feedback postings as well. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! I make every effort to describe vehicles as accurately as possible, but am sure there’s always a detail or two that I get wrong! You’re encouraged to inspect the truck at our premises on weekdays, so send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. Because of the high fees they charge, I accept PAYPAL for the deposit only. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days of the auctions conclusion unless prior arrangements have been made with me. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! This means you’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later (you’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends). If you do decide to have the truck shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid on delivery of the truck and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up would be 98032 to get an instant on-line quote from either source. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. Be sure to inquire with your shipper about insurance coverage on the vehicles they transport. The Ford can be kept free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after the auction ends, assuming full payment has been received. After that period we charge $15 per day storage. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. ONLY if you live here in Washington State will we need to collect the 9.5% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees (this means if you’re from out-of-state all we will need to collect from you is the $50 document fee and you can deal with anything licensing after getting the truck back home). The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington. Whew! Don’t you just love legalese?
