If you are looking for a nice solid true GTO Convertible without breaking the bank then this is it. This very nice GTO underwent a frame off restoration in 1989-1990. The car is rock solid and still looks great today. PHS Documentation confirms that this is a real GTO. It was born a 389/348HP Tri-Power with M20 4 speed transmission. It is now running a 1968 Firebird 400 with single 4 barrel. PHS Documents show the following:Original Code 382 – GTO OptionEngine 76W – Tri-Power w/4 speed manual transmissionPaint Code D - Silvermist Gray (car is now Grenadier Red)Interior Trim 214 - Black Paint/Exterior Condition: The car is very clean and solid. The 22 year old paint still has lots of shine and looks great but does have some small nicks, chips and scratches here and there. At this price, you can buy the car and drive it while it continues to go up in value. This is a car you will be proud to take to the Friday night cruise-in. The car does have a power top that works great and has no tears or rips. The chrome bumpers were re-chromed during the restoration and still look good today. Interior: At the time of restoration new carpet, seats and door panels were put in. A new aluminum dash insert was recently installed. The car currently has a nice wood steering wheel that is aftermarket. Engine/Mechanical: Basic service just completed with new battery, new water pump and fan clutch, new fuel pump and fuel filter and fluids changed. The car runs and stops good. Bottom Line: This is a great opportunity for a solid, first year GTO with documentation and without spending $30K-$50K and it is a convertible.
