In addition to the “Hard-S” package, this car has a carbon fiber hood, a four-to-one stainless steel header, air intake, Borla stainless-steel muffler and tip, head shaved .020”, adjustable ignition advance, a full metal radiator, fresh clutch kit, recent water pump, tune up to include an O2 sensor and oil change (Mobil 1 full synthetic) completed earlier this month, Hawk HPS pads, G-Force 205/50s, new factory Mazda headlights with Hella E-Code bulbs, a new battery, and an upgraded Torsen differential (3.90 versus the original 4.30). There are some quirky additions like a back up starter button and a leather shift boot. The rear side markers actually light up (they are just dummy reflectors on the ’99 model Miatas) and the front side markers flash with the turn signals. It also has a brand new and very rare three-window top. Mechanically this car is in great condition but it is cosmetically challenged. There are numerous small dings, scratches and a couple of dents. The passenger side fenders are scratched and dented. The finish on the hood is starting to go away but the carbon fiber is still sound. There is wear consistent with the age of this car on the carpet and driver’s seat. The Nardi wheel is in fair condition but is showing age as well. The factory radio has stopped playing CDs but it does have some nice aftermarket speakers. This Miata Sport has been run with full synthetic lubricants (Mobil 1 and Royal Purple) since I bought the car in 2008 and the previous owner made the same claim. It makes cold air and the unusual window configuration increases visibility considerably over the small stock window. It makes good power and handles extremely well. The higher gears in the limited slip differential make highway driving much quieter and comfortable and aids a little in increasing the fuel mileage over the original.
