1975 Chrysler Jet Boat, This boat runs good as seen in the videos. It is ready to run on the lake. I just installed a new automatic float switch, and the 600 gallon per hour bilge pump works well. The 318 of unknown year may or may not have been rebuilt. We GPS clocked the boat at a top speed of 38 miles per hour. The original Chrysler tachometer gauge is not hooked up right now, but it may work, or may be unhooked because it is broken. Working gauges include: fuel gauge, water temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and speedometer which reads in knots, and not miles per hour as we GPS tests using the speed app. on an andriod phone. I don't know really how accurate this is, but the boat runs well for the age. It does have a miss somewhere about idle to 2,000 rpm or so, but this is only noticed when firing it up in the driveway, since this range is never used at the lake. The engine uses fresh lake water to cool its self and then blows it out the exhaust. The engine as well as the exhaust piping have a leak somewhere, but I didn't have time to fix it. The 600 gallon per hour pump is more than enough to pump out some water that accumulates in the boat. Every boat has a bilge pump anyway. The floor is good and solid in the boat with no week spots. This boat is over 35 years old, and shows some signs of age. The interior probably needs some recovering work, as well as the dash could use a repainting. There are dings and scratches on the exterior of the boat, but no heavy damage or leaks in the boat hull its self. Basically, this boat is mechanically ready to run right now, and includes a brand new (February 2012) 100 dollar marine battery. Take a look at the engine pictures and you will see new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and button. I'm only selling it because I just bought a 1970s Tahiti Jet boat. I wanted more speed, but for someone looking to get on the lake for cheap, this 38 mile per hour boat will run you all day long. ....the last picture shows some PVC pipe bracing that I made to keep the cover from sagging, if you were wondering what that home made looking stuff was. The boat can actually be pulled at 70 miles per hour on the interstate with the tarp and PVC pipe bracing in place. I am including all of this and the bungee straps in the sale also. I am unsure of what the beam is. I don't think its listed on the title, but if someone really wants to know I could measure it and repost this week. I took a guess at 7 feet, but its pretty wide.
