Vehicle Detail
1970 Datsun 1600 Roadster. Original 49,500 mile, fully documented lifetime Southern California car. Rare Soria blue color (one repaint approx 15 years ago). Stored 12 years before I bought it as an old guy's toy in 2008 and had it shipped to Wisconsin. Always garaged while I have had had it, and used minimally during the summer. Mechanically it is in excellent condition---I have put in new carbs, brakes, radiator core, thermostat and sending unit, oil pan gasket, various electrical issues were fixed (rebuilt turn signal switch), tach cable, changed out speedo (repacement reads 88k, but the original showing 48k comes with the car), new Pirellis, and a new battery last week. Can be driven anywhere (at least if you have some sense of adventure as with any older car). This is not a cosmetically restored car however, but is a good looking, fun driver that everyone smiles at. It would be an excellent base for an easy restore if that's what you want to do. The interior shows its age with sun cracked dash and cracked and missing weatherstripping, but the seats have been replaced and look new, as does the carpet. New seat belts have been installed as well. The top is newer and is in great shape although the mechanism is a bit difficult to raise. The chrome is excellent. There is a dime size perferation in the trunk from poor weatherstripping and there is a 1.5 inch rust area on the lower driver's side "A" pillar. Otherwise the car is extremely solid given its CA heritage. On Apr-26-12 at 06:24:48 PDT, seller added the following information: 1970 Datsun 1600 Roadster.
