DESCRIPTION: PLEASE SEE YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF THIS CAR BELOW THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION! IT WILL ALSO BE ON VIEW IN PERSON THIS WEEKEND (Apr. 21 & 22) AT THE MOPAR SPRING FLING AT WOODLEY PARK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!DETAILED DESCRIPTION: It’s only original once! This honest, all original, black plate, dry and solid, Southern California “survivor” car features its factory numbers matching big block 383 four barrel with scarce factory four-on-the-floor transmission. Power brakes, power steering, and “Sure-grip” posi-traction rear end round out the mechanicals. This is an investment quality car that is sure to go up in value in the coming years. This gorgeous unmolested car has a completely rebuilt engine and transmission (by one of the top guys in southern California, Automotive Classics in Canoga Park). Top & bottom end were rebuilt (all receipts), with amenities like hidden Pertronics electronic ignition, and a high torque, high RPM starter. All engine components have been rebuilt or replaced, including alternator, carb, etc. with factory correct components (except the high-torque starter & Pertronics). The engine has been broken-in nicely since the engine rebuild, with about 500 miles on it. The odometer currently shows approx. 33,000 miles, although I am sure it is 133,000, but they are all original miles to the car. The car has always been garaged, and I am the 3rd owner. Clean California title and documentation of ownership come with the car. The car has new carpet (over 30 individual pieces at a cost of $1900) and new, correct pattern seat covers, but the rest of the interior, including dash pad (one crack in the middle, but does not detract), both door panels, headliner, and rear sail panels are all original to the car. This car is incredibly straight and dry having spent its entire life in temperate Southern California. The front-end and power steering have been rebuilt, and brakes have also been gone through. The posi rear end was drained, cleaned and refilled with oil. Front tires are brand new and rears are close to new (despite a few unintentional burn-outs, sorry!). The bottom of the car is very clean, and the engine bay has original paint, and looks really nice. The trans was rebuilt completely including new forks & gate, and shifts just beautifully. The car was factory ordered with a rare tow package, (big brakes, hemi radiator, etc) and chrome dress-up kit for the engine, (valve covers/air cleaner), and it also has original number issued California black plates, having been continuously registered here since 1966. This bone-stock luxury sports car has the original Certi-card, and some original documentation. This car was ordered with a factory tow package, but according to all the brochures I have seen, you were not supposed to be able to order a tow package on a four-speed manual car, but as we all know back in the day special orders were often honored! Nonetheless, it is a bona-fide 4-speed with tow package. [I saved the factory made tow hitch that replaces the rear bumper brackets, and it comes with the car.] The original paint has a beautiful gloss, with only minor chips, rub-throughs and some touch-up feathered in at the driver's rear quarter. The tides have turned, and car guys have realized original paint "survivor" cars are disappearing, and are getting VERY hard to find, and prices are going up exponentially every year. I don't think there is a better original, un-resotored example of a first year Charger with factory big block, and FOUR SPEED trans anywhere! The grill and tail light are super clean & original, the headlights work great and flip over nicely to show off that electric-shaver grill! There is a small break in the pot metal headlight surround, but I have an original replacement set that goes with the car. This car also features original tail light lens and insignias, both grill and trunk! The rear lens is a gorgeous, non-faded original lens with NO cracks whatsoever, and has really nice chrome letters embedded. The chrome tail light surround is in really clean orig. shape as well. The hide-away headlights function beautifully, and the electro-luminescent dash lights work too... it's the very first car and first year to utilize this technology. The medallion for the trunk is also a crisp, non-corroded original. Since these get full sun exposure, and collect water because of the sky-facing dish shape, the plastic insert and pot metal are almost always trashed, but again, this nice survivor car has a beautiful original example. This car is as fun to drive as it is hot looking. If you desire an over restored trailer queen that you cannot drive, then this is not your car, but if you hunger for a first-gen, all original, Southern California survivor car that has been well taken car of, has been completely mechanically gone through (over $4000. in engine work alone) and a real muscle car with big block and four-speed, this is definitely the car for you! PLEASE EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS, AND IF YOU WANT TO TALK BY PHONE, PLEASE EMAIL AND I WILL SEND MY NUMBER. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE CAR IN PERSON IT WILL BE AT THE BIG MOPAR SPRING FLING IN S.
