Vehicle Detail

Great Car in Need of TLC Single-owner Audi looking for a new home. Is this your next project? Solid, reliable, and fun to drive. An absolutely great car and fun to drive. Do you have the the passion, knowledge, and interest to get it running again? If you've already got an engine and need a car--look no further. I am the original owner. Purchased at Phil Long Audi in Colorado Springs, October 2000. The body is in great shape. A few dings in the door and some surface scratches. Otherwise it looks great. And when it runs, it runs great too. Known mechanical issues: 1. Timing belt needs replacement (car currently inoperable) 2. Turbo replacement (coming soon) 3. Rebuild of head/valves/lifters Prior to the timing belt issue, the car had a tapping sound in the head of the engine. Known other issues: 1. Car heater no longer works 2. Seat heaters no longer work 3. Lower lip of front bumper missing 4. Rear driver side tail light missing small piece 5. Center console damaged 6. Electronic dashboard panel does not display properly 7. Hood arm needs replacing. 8. Dipstick arm/holder is cracked and needs replacing Let me know what questions you've got! The car is sold as-is. It currently will not start due to the broken timing belt. Known mechanical issues: 1. Timing belt needs replacement (car currently inoperable/will not start or drive) 2. Turbo replacement (my mechanic says it is a matter of time before needing to be replaced, on its way out) 3. Rebuild of head/valves/lifters also recommended by mechanic Prior to the timing belt issue, the car had a tapping sound in the head of the engine. On Apr-21-12 at 09:12:54 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATEForgot to mention in original listing that TIRES are less than one year old. All four tires were changed at the same time in Fall 2011 for new Bridgestone Potenza tires. OTHER FEATURESUpgraded BOSE Sound System. CD & cassette player. Full size spare tire (never used the jack/toolkit). Small tear in driver seat upholstery. Original floor mats. Backseat has "ski pocket" that allows you to transport long items--like skis--in an enclosed pouch. KEY ISSUES--IMPORTANTMechanic says it needs a timing belt replacement. Also says turbo is going out and should be replaced soon. And, a rebuild of engine head/valves/lifters. The car does not start and will need to be towed/shipped to wherever you want it. It must be transported by flatbed due to AWD. Why am I selling? I'm moving out of state, and just don't have the money to complete the repairs and transport it to our new home. If I did, I'd keep it because I love driving it. I've been the sole owner for over 10 years, and despite the recent problems, it's been a reliable car for me. I know that the right person has the skills to do these repairs, and get it running again. Good luck and happy bidding!
