Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 2002 Dodge Durango R/T (5.9 Liter V8 engine, fulltime AWD and 3rd row seat) with ~98,000 miles after 10 years of ownership. I custom ordered this Durango from the factory and have been its sole owner and driver. I have meticulously maintained this car. All maintenance was performed on time per the owner’s manual. I have every receipt including the original window sticker and sales brochure (I have a PDF of the window sticker and can send it upon request so you can see all the standard and optional features). The car has been garaged kept both at home and at work and I waxed the paint 6 times a year. The car has never been smoked in. The R/T version of the Durango was the most expensive version of the Durango and came with a long list of standard features (Please note: the eBay listing of standard equipment above based on the VIN is not completely accurate. The R/T version of the Durango came with power seats on both the driver and passenger seats and air bags for both the front passenger and driver seats. Further, in 2002 the R/T only came with ABS on the front brakes, it was an option for the rear brakes). In addition to the extensive standard features, below is a list of the factory options I had added to the vehicle: 1) 4 wheel Anti-lock brakes 2) Side Supplemental Airbags – Side Curtain for front and 2nd row seats 3) Trailer Tow Group (Class IV hitch, transmission cooler, 160 amp alternator, wiring harness) 4) Factory DVD System (see pictures) 5) Skid plate group 6) Heated Front Seats 7) Engine Block Heater 8) Upgraded factory Infinity Stereo System 9) Factory all weather mats (see pictures) The vehicle’s condition is well above average for all the mechanicals, the exterior and interior. Mechanicals: As of the writing of this description everything works perfectly on the vehicle, there are no mechanical issues with the vehicle and all maintenance is up to date. I just changed the oil at 98,000 miles and rotated the tires. Just in the last 2 years, in addition to the basic maintenance items, the following major service items were performed on the vehicle:1) Transmission rebuild2) Wheel bearings were replaced and repacked on both front wheels3) New rear drums, shoes, front rotors and pads (March 2012)4) Goodyear P275/60TR-17 Fortera Triple Tread Tires5) New Thermostat along with cooling system flush and new 5 year/150,000 mile coolant Exterior: The paint is in great shape on the vehicle and the high gloss back paint still shines as good as it did when it came from the factory. The chrome wheels that came standard on the R/T in 2002 are in like new condition. There are no dents, door dings or rust. However, being ten years old, the vehicle does have some parking lot induced very minor scratches that are hard to see from even 5 feet away. Over the years I have done my best to repair any of the minor scratches with the factory touch up paint. To be honest, I do not want to give any potential buyer the impression that the vehicle's paint is perfectly flawless because it is not, but it looks darn good to my eye and much better than the Durango's of this age and model that I have seen before. Interior: The interior is in excellent condition. There are no rips or tears in any of the seating surfaces and the carpet looks brand new as the all-weather mats have been in place since I picked up the vehicle. Please note that in some of the pictures of the interior it looks like some of the seating surfaces have a slightly different shade of color compared to its neighbor. The slight color difference you see in the pictures is just a function of the camera’s flash exposing more of one seat than the other (I’m not much a picture taker). There are some scratches in the hard plastic surfaces that cover the back part of the vehicle where items are taken in and out of the vehicle, but the scratches are very minor and nothing out of the ordinary for a 10 year old car. Minor Accidents: In the spirit of full disclosure, the vehicle has been in two very minor accidents that occurred in parking lots over its 10 year life. In the first one, a car came into my lane not noticing I was there and dented the front left quarter panel. The quarter panel was replaced and repainted. In the second accident, I backed into a light pole in a parking lot and scratched the rear bumper cover. I had the bumper cover replaced and repainted. The repair work was done by a top rated auto body repair shop in Denver and you definitely cannot see any differences between what was repainted and what is original factory paint. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or you would like any additional information. I consider myself to be a very ethical and honest person so rest assured that I have done my best to accurately represent the vehicle. Please review my eBay feedback and bid with confidence. I firmly believe you will not be able to find another Dodge Durango R/T in this good of shape, with all the extra options, and clear documentation that all maintenance items have been performed on the car. I will gladly accommodate a test drive and having the vehicle inspected by a mechanic of the buyer’s choosing.
