Vehicle Detail
68 Firebird 400 in great condition with new single stage Deltron paint, new vinyl top, headliner, carpet, wheel well moldings and most emblems. Matching numbers, see pictures showing VIN stamp on cowl and engine as well as WZ engine assembly code and engine sequence number. Included with the sale will be the complete Pontiac Historic Services package showing that these numbers are correct from the factory records. I have owned this car since 1989 and have always kept it in a heated garage. Factory options include the Firebird 400 package, 4 speed manual transmission, Sate T Track rear axle, pushbutton radio with manual rear antenna, custom seat belts, Hood Mounted Tachometer, Rally Gauge Cluster, Rally II Wheels, deluxe Steering Wheel, Console, Front Disc Brakes, Soft Ray Glass, Custom Pedal Trim, Ride & Handling Package (HD springs and shocks) and F70-14 Redline wide Oval Tires. The Firebird 400 package included the 400 cubic inch/ 330 HP engine, chrome air cleaner and rocker covers, dual exhausts and Hood Scoops. The original air cleaner assembly and 4 barrel carb with idle solenoid are still on the car. The original AM radio has been replaced with an Alpine AM/FM cassette unit that sounds great. Most everything else on the car is original except the rear Trans Am style spoiler and the front chin spoiler. Both are easily removed if you prefer. It is a great running and driving car that used to beat my 396/350 Camaro on a regular basis. Please email questions or to request more pictures. I am happy to store the car for a reasonable period of time to accomodate transport requirements. On Apr-15-12 at 10:03:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received several requests for the Pontiac Historic Services documents. I have added photos 19 and 20 which are the car's 1968 Car Billing History, which shows the engine sequence number seen in one of the pictures above the WZ code and the 1968 Model Wholesale Car Order which shows the options on the car as ordered by the dealer. I apologize for the Car Order picture being sideways but it can be seen better this way. Just copy it to view full size or email me a fax number and I'll send it to you. On Apr-21-12 at 18:42:40 PDT, seller added the following information: New photos added showing the undercarriage, hood tach and hood pad. The last picture is of the bumper jack and front license plate bracket. The jack base is slightly larger and much more stable than the original one. I have not found the spare tire. I have also lowered the reserve.
