Vehicle Detail
1983 Pontiac Trans Am black with gold accents on hood and fenders. Don't want to sell, but I am moving, and I don't want the extra baggage with another vehicle to move and store. This car has been garaged. I was going to convert it to a KITT Knight Rider. 700R4 transmission with Boss Hogg 2600 stall converter. Power windows, which work, power driver seat, power locks. Cruise and A/C. Exterior: Appears to have original paint and is really nice when cleaned up. Shiny with little scratches. No major dents. There is rust, mostly on the rear fender wells. POR 15 rust prevent was painted on it to stop further rust. Doesn't appear to have ever been wrecked. Body is straight. Interior: I put aftermarket gauges in, Equis speedo, tach, oil, and water. I have an extra fuel gauge to be included in sale that is not hooked up. Original gauge cluster will be included, as well. Brand new B&M Megashifter with O/D. PMD front seats replaced original for the Knight Rider conversion. Drivers side is electric. The back seats are original. Carpet is good, but I had to cut a hole in the passenger side due to shoddy exhaust work that burned a hole in the floor pan. Carpet will need to be patched or replaced. Also, I cut a square above the fuel tank to access the sending unit. Carpet covers that area, but buyer might want to place a hinged door to cover the area. It's not very large. Motor: Chevy 350 bored .30 with stock crank, Speed Pro forged flat top pistons, Comp 292 hydraulic cam with Comp lifters, retainers, rods, and springs. Stock heads. Heads were taken to machine shop recently to check for cracks...no cracks, checked out good. Weiand Xcelerator intake, Weiand Team G water pump, Powermaster alternator, Maradyne electric fan. New GM starter. Original radiator.HEI distributor...but will need to be checked. I ran it with MSD ignition, but will not be included in sale. Summit fuel pressure regulator and vacuum booster for brakes. T Tops: Excellent condition. Glassy, shiny condition. Has original bag, and the back window has the original cover to keep the trunk area from sun damage. The defrost on the back window works, too. The above console needs to have the fabric replaced. Driveline: New driver side ball joint. Energy Suspension Polyurethane front end bushings, plus same brand poly motor mounts and transmission mount. New springs all the way around. Problems: I took the heads off because the coolant overflow would boil after about 30 minutes running. It just started doing this. Replaced radiator cap and thermo. Still did it. Suspected blown head gasket. Machine shop looked at heads and confirmed heads are good. Problem could be the radiator?? Cylinder walls look good, no rust or rust pits. Fluid looks normal, oil and coolant. Lights turn on but won't flip up or down. They did flip up before I put in the new gauges. Could be a wiring mix match. Wiper motor burned out. Wipers did work, just didn't want to shut off. I put a new lever in, but didn't wire it in to the cruise control. Yes, car does have cruise control and air conditioning. However, air needs rechared. Car will sell with original air compressor, as it was hooked up when running. Heat works well. Exhaust: Hedman long tube headers with straight pipes to Super Turbo mufflers dumped at end of rear seats with turn downs. No cats. Extras included: Hooker shorty headers (I took them off because they were too loud for me). Under hood air unit that came stock on these..it was working when I took it off. Stock shifter, HEI distributor with clear cap. Original radio and antennae goes up and down no problems. Stock emissions wiring removed. Clear title. Have all service records prior to when I bought it and title in hand. Car lit up the tires when running. A real head turner! Shifts good, accurate, no slop, drag, or slipping. It ran strong before I took the heads off. Fluids look good. No problems...no smoking, no hesitation, just fast and fun! That's about it. Please contact with any questions. Note: the picture of motor is before it was taken apart. Everything pictured is included but carburetor. Buyer to arrange pick up and transport. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs. On Apr-14-12 at 07:12:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to add the original gauge cluster goes with it and the bowling ball hubcaps seen in the picture. Anything else i can find to go with the car i will add it. Sold as is. It will need work to put back together and interior work, as well, to get it excellent quality again. On Apr-16-12 at 07:34:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Actually has 130,000 miles. sorry for the typo. eBay won't let me change it. And MSD ignition not included in sale.
