For sale is my beautiful 2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLS TDI. I am only the second owner of this top of the line Jetta. This car is in great shape. The paint is shiny with no cleat coat peeling and the tan leather seats are free from any rips or tears. I put new tires on it last year and they still have plenty of life left in them. This car features the updated "PD" diesel engine that features more power, less emissions, and less noise than the previous diesel engines. It has always had the proper synthetic oil used in it. (I have new oil/filter and a fuel filter ready to install - I will try to do this before the auction ends, otherwise it will all be included) I mainly drove this vehicle on my long work commute. With 90% highway miles, I never saw less than 43 miles per gallon, even with a lot of hilly terrain, and I regularly went nearly 600 miles on a tank of diesel. The car starts up fast even on cold days, idles smooth, and has plenty of power. It handles great and is very quiet, comfortable, and smooth riding. The Bad :Since I purchased this vehicle (20,000 miles ago), it has shifted hard or delayed shifting into and out of 2nd gear. This problem goes away once the transmission has gotten up to temp, and because of this, I never felt the need to have it repaired. Right after I had the timing belt/water pump done, I noticed as I was climbing a hill that the coolant temp was going up above normal. I didn't let it get into the red, but I asked my mechanic about this and he said that the only think he thinks it could be is that the new water pump could be defective and the blades are slipping on the shaft. It hasn't gotten hot since then, and my mechanic couldn't get it to either, but just in case I ordered a new metal water pump in case the resin one that was installed is in fact defective. There are a couple of scratches of the glove box door. 2. The bumper looks as if it was tapped at some point by another vehicle on the passenger rear corner. Neither the paint nor clear coat is cracked, but the paint appears to have a few "wrinkles" in it that are confined just to that small area. There are no actual dents there.
