Vehicle Detail

Classic 1990 Honda Prelude 4WS Si Automatic 192k 2.1 L engine, 145 hp Power Mirrors, Power Windows, Power Sunroof Minimal surface rust near wheel wells, paint has some dings, has been touched up but no longer shines Softball sized dent in driver's side fender Unique Car with All-Mechanical four wheel steering...... "At the heart of the 4WS system was a planetary gear which was turned by a central shaft connecting to the front steering rack. This novel hypocycloid gearset allowed the rear wheels to turn in the same direction as the front wheels during small steering inputs, up to 1.5 degrees, and in the opposite direction during large steering inputs, up to a maximum of 5.3 degrees. The latter attribute helped during tight manoeuvering, decreasing the turning circle by a full metre, while the former led to better road holding and stability during sudden lane changes. The increased grip during sudden lane changes was due to the effect of the combined slip angles of all four wheels acting on the road surface, while the increased stability was due to the fact that the car body turned less during such manoeuvers, lessening its rotational momentum which allowed for easier recovery. " -Antholonet Runs 3hr highway trips at 65mph...no problem Needs: replace diode in alternator ($25-30) will jump start and run, 2 new front tires driver's side tire rod replacement would be wise, *leaks some oil, leaks some power steering fluid Ideally swap out motor and/or transmission and use the 4WS to... "Road & Track tested it in 1988, and the Prelude flew through the 700-foot slalom at 65.5 mph--faster than any other production car available. Even today, that time is still very respectable, faster than the Mazda RX8, the Acura NSX, the Lotus Esprit, the C5 Corvette, and even the Dodge Viper GTS. The scariest thing is this was all achieved on the stock 195/60/R14 Michelins." from Car Lust Blog On Apr-15-12 at 05:28:24 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-15-12 at 05:34:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Classic 1990 Honda Prelude 4WS Si Automatic 192k 2.1 L engine, 145 hp Power Mirrors, Power Windows, Power Sunroof Pioneer CD player Original Wheels Minimal surface rust near wheel wells, paint has some dings, has been touched up but no longer shines There is one small two inch rip in driver's seat upholstery, and the bottom the the drivers door plastic basket has been damaged, the passenger side is only missing a small piece of the trim.
