NO RESERVE - Early TR4 W/Overdrive - Runs & Drives Here it is, if you were looking for a TR4 to restore this is the one! It's an Excellent candidate for a full restoration or just drive it as is (see mechanical paragraph below) Rust free, rare black early TR4 with factory leather seats and OVERDRIVE. The paint on this car appears to be the original lacquer and in decent condition for its vintage. The floor pans, door jams, pillars, rockers, inner and outer fenders, and trunk are very solid with good paint and are rust/filler free (See pictures). All doors, hood and trunk open, close and latch nicely. The frame does not show any signs of damage or repair. The dash and crash pads are in very good condition and again appear to be original, the rest of the interior is original and faded, the leather seats will need to be recovered and it will need new carpet. Both the tonneau and convertible top are included and in working condition. The chrome (including the fender beading) is in excellent condition. The hinges, door handles, emblem, bumpers, etc. gauges are ideal for a restoration and could all be re-used. The brakes and clutch work good and the master cylindars are newly rebuilt. The transmission drives and shifts nicely and the steering works great. It has a new exhaust installed, and a brand new high torque starter. It also has new tires (the stickers are still on them). One of the SU carburetors has a sticky float and is leaking gas so I did not drive it far (about a mile or so) but it seems with a tune-up and carb rebuild it will drive nice. I'm doubtful the the mileage is original, the speedometer was not working when I was driving however, this is a very solid car that is very original and judging by the condition, it does not appear to have many miles on it. With a tune up, seat covers and carpet you could be driving to the beach this summer, humming down the highway at 65mph with the overdrive on - or strip it down and bring this beauty back to showroom condition.
