Vehicle Detail

Up For Sale is a 1971 Mercedes Benz 280SL fully restored and ready for a new owner! This car comes with all original books and manuals, tools, spare tire, jack, as well as the receipts and records for its maintenance. I can arrange worldwide shipping without any problems. Exterior Anthracite grey (174G anthrazitgrau) paint has nice shine and luster, and all chrome is complete and shiny looking. Its beautiful and desirable color combination makes this Mercedes a real head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes. It has been always garaged, it is very solid and its rust free. Please remember this car was very nicely kept and there is no rust on it. All original welding dots along the front and rear fenders, inside the engine bay, along the frame rails, inside the door jams, and trunk are still present, showing originality of this car. Weep lines, original half-moons in the front and the rear of the vehicle, are present as well and are another evidence of originality of this beautiful roadster. Hard top is in excellent condition, including all the glass and wood trim around the rear window. Soft top is in good condition, but it hasn’t been used much, so you can notice some discoloration of the rear plastic window. I have detailed pics. Interior Interior is in great condition. Seats are new looking and structurally sound and very comfortable, with no rips or tears in them. Just take a look at the pictures, and you will get an idea about the condition of this car, and how beautiful it is. Everything inside is working, including original Kienzle clock, and all the dashboard lights. Wood is complete showing its beautiful patina. Engine & Transmission The 2.8 straight six cylinder engine starts up on the first try and it is strong as ever. It runs and idles as it should, with no problems. In the past few years there was over $8,500 spent into maintenance of this car. Also few weeks ago, it received a fresh oil change, along with the new spark plugs, and new Bosch Alternator. Automatic transmission is in great condition as well, and it goes through every gear nicely and effortlessly. A/C is working, but to get that ultimate “Ice Cold” feeling it needs to be recharged. It has been retrofitted to R134-a so re-charge should be simple and cheap.
