Vehicle Detail

This was my father's project that I bought for him when he retired and he never completed. Paint was original and I drove it occasionally for a year before I gave it to him. Car was very fast and smooth runner. I bought it because of the way it ran and its original no rust condition Been sitting for a few years since he passed. I bougfht the car from the original owner after it was hit in the rear and he couln't bring himself to pay half of what he paid for the car in 66 to get it fixed. He had paid close to 4K for a quality rebuild of the original motor. I will locate that paperwork The transmission was rebuilt also. There was only about 500 miles on the new motor when he was rear ended. When I bought it I had the body work done by a friend and the rear bumper straightened and drove it as is. My father took it apart to restore. I still don't why he took it completely apart but I guess he had fun. Car is completely solid and rust free except for the trunk which is a little thin and has a few pinholes. Rockers, flloors, behind rear window, gutters, bottom of fenders, etc. are all completely solid. It's a black plate car and I have the plates and clear title. My dad cut out the rear frame section where the rear bumper brackets attache (It was bent) and there is a straight replacement from donor car that isn't welded in. Buckets were recovered but are dirty from sitting. Back seat is still nice. Gas tank was dented and I found a good one off another car. Rear bumper was rechromed a few years ago and still looks good. Lots of miscellaneous parts go with car. Double set of hard to find 66 GTO taillight panels. Have rear V shaped anodized vinyl top trim in nice condition . Car had a vinyl top but amazingly the roof and sail panels are completely solid. I think there was some minor surface rust at the front of the roof behind the front windshield and my father put a thin layer of filler on a square foot section which I don't believe was needed and it's peeling off and shows no rust underneath. I guess he sanded it down and didn't prepare surface properly. When I bought the car I lloked up engine, carb, head casting, etc. and everything was correct for 66 GTO. Radiator is original and at this point would needto be boiled out. I don't see a problem getting this car to run with an oil change and and a carb cleaning. Water pump was new with rebuild and all AC parts are there, including under dash ducts and dash bezels. Again, car is complete. and good one to restore.. The car is straight. Hood never has any damage, as well as the fenders which he removed to paint. The front fenders never had a single dent and are as nice as I've ever seen. You can see from the inside they've never had any body work. Doors are no rust and never hit. Console is nice and my father started to restore the dash guages. I have parts for the car and many doubles of trim. NOS GTO elblems. Many parts are bagged and organized. Have good door panels and new carpet, headliner, woodgrain dash insert. I bought 67 Ralleys and mounted new tires but they never made it on the car. Have original rims and hubcaps. All glass in good. I have the front windshield in good shape, It;s a Powerglide, AC, power steering, non-posi car. Like I said, I drove this car for a year before my father got it was a nice driving car. Car was very fast, but drove smoothly compared to my Chevrolets. Pontiac was a step up from Chevrolet back in the day. Car is complete with ALL parts. Everything is original on car and it would be a good car to restore but I have other cars and I have no place to keep it. Local pickup preferred but I will help with shipping if necessary.
