This 1949 Jeepster is in good running condition. Tke interior vinyl seats are in excellent condition. No dents or scrapes on the black laquer body. Front and back bumpers have been rechromed, along with the full set of step plates that are not installed.The body shows some road chips from car being used in holiday parades, and taking the grandchildren for rides in the neighborhood. A full set of old, wide whitewall tires mounted on the 15" original rims is included in the sale. This jeepster runs on a set of wire wheels at present. The ignition system is the original 6 volt battery that cranks over the rare 6 cylinder optional engine. Of the 2,986 units produced in this year, only about 600 were made with this optional motor. I had bought most all parts necessary to convert this 6 volt system to 12 volts , including a new wiring harness, alternator, coil, etc. All of these parts, and more are also included in the sales price. This car was previously owned by a mechanic, who kept the engine in smooth operating condition. It has been garaged inside, and the side vinyl glass windows have been stored and not installed since I have owned it. The car has the original radio and heater that has not been hooked up. I also have an extra radio and loads of other replacement parts that go with the car. I am a very senior citizen and reluctant to give up on my "baby", but the time has come to part with an old friend and move on! I hope the next owner will enjoy her as much as I did!
