Vehicle Detail

You are confidently bidding on a mint condition pro-street Pontiac Ventura. For those's who don't know, the Ventura was Pontiac's rarer version of the Chevy Nova and this particular beast is one of the finest examples of the breed. Looking at the exterior of the car you car, you can see this garaged kept, rust free, body is straight as an arrow. The door gaps are almost perfect with no door sag. The Ventura is covered in chrome with every piece accounted for and in good condition. Also all glass is great with no cracks or scratches. Opening the door and stepping inside, you are treated to and immaculate original black interior. This pristine mint interior is almost the defying feature of this classic. Surviving 39 years of the elements by being safely tucked indoors, allows one to truly appreciate the care that was taken of the car. A brand new headliner, dash cap, ashtray and updated stereo are the only aftermarket parts in this all original interior. Looking behind, you will see a vastly spacious interior accomplished with the easily folded down rear seats. This creates a fully flat trunk capable of fitting large items. The fold flat seats are possible because this is the rare and sought after hatchback model. A $1000 dollar option in todays money, the hatchback could also be fitted with an available pop up tent that allowed the driver to sleep on the fold flat floor. A special storage hatch was also included, that has a rust free pan thats solid as a rock. Under the hatch you will see the original sticker displaying the jacking instructions. The original stickers can also be found on the drivers sun visor and glove box inner door. Something as simple as these stickers actually proves its originality and substantially increases its value. But the part of this mint classic that really makes it special is the engine. Opening the hood, you will see a fully built Big Block Pontiac 455 bored .30 over and pushing an estimated earth shattering 500 horsepower! Thats right, this era and make original Pontiac 455, has had no expense spared to achieve these naturally aspirated, pump gas, numbers. Parts included in this build are: forged hbeam rods and trw forged pistons ,1972 big valve heads port matched to Holley street fighter intake. Numbers matching Q jet carb, grey powder coded air filter and valve covers, MSD wires, Hooker long tube headers, 3" manderl bent x-pipe and 3"flow master mufflers, harland sharp roller rockers, summit sum-2802 cam. Quick and seamless shifts are accomplished through a newly built turbo-hydramatic 350 transmission. The forged internals mean this engine is blower ready, if 500hp just isn't enough for you. : ) This beast of an engine is cooled with a new light weight racing aluminum radiator and electric fan. Power is converted to wheels through a strong 2.72 posi 10" rear end. The car stays glued to the road with light weight aluminum Weld racing wheels with brand new, one week old, sticky rear tires. After neck breaking acceleration, this beast can come to screeching halt due to new massive aftermarket racing disk brakes. New pads are included. The conversion of this classic to a Pro-street monster was created around 2005 and has only been run a handful of times. Engine just had a fresh oil change. Around $25,000 was spent on this build and a huge stack of recites, to the amount of $15000, is included. The recites do not include the cost of the car before build. Yes, the paint is faded on the roof, trunk, and top fenders. There are also some scratches and a spot of missing paint in photos. This can appear to not match the quality of the rest of the car but I can assure you it was intentional. When the factory wheels were on, this created the "sleeper", or unassuming factory look, effect. If you would like to repaint the car, that would be one of the few things keeping this from being showroom quality! You will also notice the center vent is missing and replaced with a black plastic piece. That is because I had misplace the vent when these photos were taken, but I have found it and is now installed. All the lights work and this street legal dragster is just about ready for inspection. In summary, this is and rare, immaculate, and fast Pro-street Ventura that runs and drives great. It needs little to be perfect and is well worth the "BUY IT NOW" price. Read entire ad below, look at Photobucket pictures link, and watch the video's for any defects in car, before bidding. Call, text, or message me, through Ebay, anytime between 8am and 10:30pm central standard time about any mistakes or questions this add hasn't addressed. 214 808 9759 Thank you and good luck! Photobucket with more photos here!----> Photobucket Link Must read before bidding When I purchased this car, it was almost just like it is now. There were few little things left that were needed to make this car complete. They are listed as follows: The speedometer, gear select indicator, windshield wipers, horn and oil pressure gauge wires all need to be connected up. Explained above, the paint is faded on the roof, trunk and front fenders. There are also some paint chips and scratches that have been touched up with silver that is not the exact color match. There is a large touch up of this different silver on the bottom rear drivers side skirt and paint missing on front drivers fender. The plastic piece between the front bumper and grill is cracked. The chrome bumpers have light surface scratches. All these defects can be seen in the photos provided on Photobucket website. All rubber bushings on suspension needs to be replaced and is noticeable at highway speeds. I have purchased all the new front and rear rubber parts needed and it comes with sale. The passenger front fender well has been removed and is not included with sale. The plumbing for the cabin air, behind dash, has been removed to reduce weight. I have most of this plumbing and it comes with sale. Photos of the plumbing, I have, are in the Photobucket link. Being that this is a Pro-street car, the original A/C has been removed and is not included with sale. Heater controls are not connected and are missing two small nobs. The weather striping on the drivers door may need to be replaced. The hood will need to be aligned for better gaps. The only speakers are in the back and they are the two after market box's, seen in the photos. The original speakers are removed and not included. Being that this is an antique car, no amount of garage keeping has prevented some light surface rust on the undercarriage. It is by no means serious and nothing a little sandpaper and some elbow grease wouldn't eliminate. It can also be sand blasted and painted for a real classy look. Photo's can be found in the link. In the photos it is mostly just dirt and road grime you see. This is obviously not the original engine and horse power is only a good estimate as I do not have dyno numbers. The original carburetor used for this build was a Holly High Performance carb, and this estimated HP rating is probably closer with an equally performing carb, installed after purchase. The factory carb has been installed for better fuel economy. The coke is manual and is always in the open position until a cable or electric coke is installed. The headers have surface rust. The only actual rust on the body I could find is at the very center tip underside of the hatch, as seen in the Photobucket album. The originality of this car is not document and I am only getting my facts from the previous owner and common sense when seeing the car. I will not be held responsible if a piece of the car turns out to be not original. All these things listed are very minor and nothing a weekends time couldn't fix.
