1999 Isuzu Trooper - Luxury Edition Clean one owner vehicle. We actually bought this as my wife's car in March of 2000. Gave us a deal we couldn't pass up. It's been a great vehicle, but after 12 years, she wants a new car. Isuzu supplied this Luxury Edition to Acura as their high end SUV, re-badged as their SLX model. It's always been garaged - evidenced by the nice shape the body panels are in, but it has been subjected to 12 years of Cleveland Winters with all the associated salt use. The body is pretty nice with a few surface rust spots. One on the larger rear door at the base of the window, one on the roof just above the windshield and a spot on the front of the hood. Underneath is where the rust took its toll. Everything looks to be structurally sound but there is a fair amount of rust under there. The four wheel drive system works great. Has Isuzu's Torque on Demand system. Is normally rear wheel drive when system is turned off. When turned on about 10% of torque is to the front wheels. When slippage is detected more torque is supplied to the front. There is a indicator on the left of the dash that shows when more torque is supplied to the front wheels. The 4 wheel drive can also be locked in with the center console shift lever by putting it into 4 low. Never got stuck in this vehicle. I always endeaver to be honest and want to make sure you are aware of any problem areas. Keep in mind that this is technically a 13 year old vehicle. I will go through the options with comments about their condition. Main areas you should be aware of are as follows: - The ABS function on the brakes is not working. Brakes themselves work fine - just no ABS function. My mechanic has told me that it needs a new ABS controller. I have found them on Ebay here for under $200 for a used one with a warranty. - The check engine light came on a few months ago after the car had its' Ohio E-Check done. Had my mechanic look at it and he said it looks like it may be an EGR valve. Told me it should run fine without it, but it will of course need to be fixed to pass any emissions tests. - The engine runs strong and smooth, but as is typical for this vehicle, it does use some oil, but does not smoke at all. Keep an eye on it and it should be fine. - There is a Flex joint in the exhaust system that has developed a leak. I called the local muffler shop and they said a new one installed would run about $100. - Finally there is a small oil leak where the shift mechanisim enters the side of the transmission. Probably needs a new seal, but I haven't looked into it. Options and Standard Equipment: - Leather Upholstery & Seats- In very good shape for 13 yrs old. Couple of small cracks in outside of bottom Drivers seat - 4 Wheel Disc Brakes - New pads - 60/40 Split Rear Reclining Seats with Armrest - Ok - AM/FM Premium Stereo with cassette and 6 disc CD changer - Works and sounds great - Air Conditioning - blows cold - Aluminium Alloy Wheels - In good shape - Anit-Lock Brakes - Not working - see above - Automatic Transmission - In good shape - Shifts fine - Driver and Passenger adjustable arm rests - Dual retractable, heated mirrors - Heat up and retract properly - Fender Flares - Heavy Duty Tubular Alumininum Step Running Boards - Heated Front Seats - Passenger seat heats fine, Drivers seat may have come unplugged - doesn't heat - Interval Wipers - Ok - Map Lights - Ok - - Power Steering - Ok - Power Locks - Ok - Power 8 way Driver and Passenger Seats - Ok - Power Windows - Ok - Rear Defroster - Ok - Leather Steering Wheel & Shift Knob - Privacy Tinted Glass - Ok, No chips or cracks in any of the glass - Interval Wipers- Ok - Cargo Net - Cargo Rubber Protector Mat - Cargo Cover - (Blocks view of cargo area from back windows) - Rear Window Wiper W/Washer - Needs Work-Motor Ok, but wiper arm needs replaced - Remote Fuel Door - Ok - Rubber Floor Mats - Original Carpeted Floor Mats - Power Huge Sunroof - Ok - Tachometer, Coolant Temp. Gages - Ok - Tilt Steering Column - Ok - Trip Odometer - P245/70 R16 Michelin Tires - About 30-40% tread left - Pretty even wear - Wheel Locks - Wood Look Trim - Power Drive/Winter Start Modes - Ok - Keyless Entry - Only have one fob and it has stopped working - wife's fingernails a little too sharp. Can get replacements here on Ebay. If you put key in drivers side lock and turn twice to the right, all doors will un-lock. - Cruise Control - Ok - Fog Lamps - Ok - Dual front Air Bags - Ok - Full size spare Tire/Wheel - Compass/Outside Temp/Barometer/Elevation Console on Headliner - Fuel economy - 15 city/19 highway - Cargo Volume with rear seats folded - 90.2 Cubic Feet - Smoke Free Vehicle - One Owner - Owners Manual - For some reason I can't find it. Remember I took it out of the car in the garage last Fall and now I am tearing the house apart looking for it. Will continue to look for it till the sale is completed. If I can't put my hands on it, I will credit the buyer $25 to order one on Ebay. I found several for sale here. (Check out Ebay item # 280627526804) - Title - Free and clear and in my hands. (Was able to find it) Overall the vehicle is in pretty good shape for its age. Expect wear and tear on the vehicle consistant with its age in some areas. Please make sure that your state doesn't require inspections beyond your ability to make repairs to meet them.
