Vehicle Detail

1968 Ford Bronco 4x4Uncut, very original, straight body classic289 V8 runs excellent, very reliable3 speed manual transmission shifter on the steering column 2 and 4 wheel drive work greatWell maintained and good daily driver Rebuilt Brakes/calipers, new shocks, steering linkage and tie rods No Reserve I drive this truck on weekends about 50 miles, my son and I take it surfing. It is a lot of fun in the summer and get many thumbs up. Truck runs great, has been a good back up car, it is very dependable and have occassionally taken it to work - on freeway in So. CA commute with heavy freeway traffic, never heats up or has had any problems. Truck would be easy to restore and would get a lot more money out of it but I don't have time. Trying to sell all toys, I love this truck but need to slim down to one car - need deposit for new house while market is down. Truck was painted several times over years (original color wimbeldon white) and paint is chipping out in many places around truck. Includes steel top (see pics) - I will put top on truck if buyer wishes. Overall: Seat/ belts, gauges, wipers, and all lights, fan blower works. Original radio works. Doors lock well and windows roll down and up easily. To restore, could use a good sanding and paint job. Truck turns well and has all new steering linkage, tie rods, C clamps, shocks, and brakes. As mentioned above the 289 runs excellent. Engine: 289 v8 sounds and runs great. UPDATED INFO: I spoke with original owner and found that engine was rebuilt. Engine runs smooth and cool, does not blow any smoke and always starts easily. I recently tuned engine with new plugs, oil, points, and air cleaner. Has original carburator which requires manual choke (on dash board) to warm up engine, works great. Other Bronco enthusiasts have mentioned the newer 2 barrel carb with auto choke is a nice upgrade, however I have had no problem with using the choke on this truck. Brakes: Rebuilt brakes all around about 200 miles ago, including shoes and calipers. Stops very well. Emergency brake works great. Clutch/Trans: Transmission works great, both in 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. Gears shift well. I don't use it for 4 wheel drive but 4x4 works great, have taken it on dirt roads once in a while to keep the gears and all in good condition. Clutch is releasing all the way out on clutch pedal, so even though it works ok now, will likely need clutch replaced in future. Body/rust/paint: Body is very straight, no dents or accidents. Truck does have rust in the floor pan and rockers. Once truck came to California from rainy N. Arizona, it had rusted foot area floor boards and rockers. Steel floors have been screwed in and work great, never have given me any problems and I'm sure would last many years. If new owner wanted to restore to original, floor panels are easy to obtain and would be welded in. Also rockers have rust through areas so polished aluminum rocker covers were installed. The rest of the truck, and bed looks good, tail gate is solid and has no rust. Tailgate came off rust free wrecked truck in desert - I sanded it down and primered - was going to have painted when entire truck is painted. Last, the doors sag a bit when you open them - does not bother me and door shuts ok so was not repaired. I was told it needs new hinge pins installed to correct the sagging doors. NEW ADDITION: I have received questions on the bed. It does have the mounting nuts and bolts already for a back seat and seat belts. I checked and they do un-bolt easily, so it would be easy to add a back seat. Also noticed it has holes for the original captain seats in front, so the fold down bench seat in front was added at a later time. Truck was originally a wagon, not a short cab truck. Top: Top also needs sanding and painting however works fine. The lift gate and latch work well. Has a few small rust cracks (see pics). To restore needs cracks (shown) welded and repaired from inside. Top will be installed before pickup unless new owner wants to pick up at another time or pass.
