1977 Toyota FJ40, 2nd Owner, Very Original, Excellent Condition This is a 2nd owner car purchased here locally in Everett, WA in 1979. It has always been stored in a garage, and very well taken care of with maintanence records dating back to when it was purchased. It has always been adult owned, and never abused for off-road purposes, etc. It is mostly original, with the exception of the Warn winch, sunroof (which works fine, no leaks) era correct wheels, rear wheel body extensions, CB radio, and cassette player. The motor and transmission is original from the factory, and the interior is also all original. I have the original owners manual, factory trim tag, and Toyota factory plug-in accessory lamp (pics included below). This FJ has not been fully restored, however it would be described as a very well kept and maintained "survivor" with a body repaint and no accidents that was driven by it's owner off and on over the last 30 years. It comes with a service book showing all maintanence done down to oil changes since almost new. You could jump in and drive it right now, with no issues. CONDITION: BODY: As described, the body was painted once, in it's original color. There is some minimal surface rust, and both quarters along with the rear along the bottom edge of the bed were sprayed with primer around 10 years ago (see pics or call for more specifics). Some edges sutch as drip rails and fender edges show minimal signs of surface rust just on some edges. Nothing horrible, however I wanted to call it out. No major dents or dings, and it has never seen an accident. All glass looks to be factory except possibly the windshield. The roof was only off once when it was repainted. INTERIOR: The interior of this FJ is really in excellent condition. All original with the exception of the CB, radio, and door speakers. Headliner looks great, dashboard is really clean with crisp gages and controls, and it still has the original factory jump seats in back with seatbelts. The factory vinyl floor liner is also in very good condition. Everything works, and it also has the factory rear heat unit. The only issues would be the front seat bottoms which show some normal wear and tear in the seams. If you were doing a full restoration you would not need to replace hardly anything inside. ENGINE DEPT: As I said, this is the factory 6-cyl 4230cc motor. It has never been pulled out, however it has been meticulously maintained. Belts, and hoses have always been replaced when needed, with no issues. The egine starts easy, runs strong, no smoke, and drives great. It is stored in my clean garage and has never even dripped once. SUSPENSION / STEERING: This thing drives like your typical FJ. Could probably use a new set of shocks, however the springs were replaced not that many miles ago. Aside from that, no issues to speak of. Tires were changed less than 1,500 miles ago, so they are basically new. I am listing this FJ for my unlce who is the second owner. I am very familiar with the car, and I have it stored here at my home with the original clear title. He is getting older, and has some sentimental connection with it so he does not want to deal with selling it.
