Vehicle Detail

Relisted due to a non-paying over-seas bidder. DATA PLATE INFO: BODY: 65A TRIM: 82 DATE: 17G DSO: 72 AXLE: 3 TRANS: 1 HIGHLIGHTS: 1965 (1964 ½) Mustang Coupe VIN: 5F07U2044** (crooks can easily clone these old vehicle’s titles etc. & as a result I am withholding the last two digits) 3 speed manual transmission Options: Front seat belts and factory AM radio. Still maintains original paint (Wimbledon White) & body panels. There is no history of a collision or evidence of one. The mileage seems to be original as evidenced by accompanying paperwork. Original California black & yellow license plates. Original dealership license plate frame & owner’s manual. Numbers matching drive train: 170ci six cylinder engine, three speed transmission and rear-end & original 1 barrel carburetor. Fortunately for you, I am reluctantly placing my 1964½ Mustang coupe on the auction block. I am afflicted with collecting automobiles (amongst other things) and unfortunately have limited space to keep and maintain them so this fine specimen of automotive history must go, to make room for another. Here are some facts pertaining to this Mustang. I purchased this car in November, last year. I met with the owner who owned it for a year previous. He told me he purchased it for his son, who ended up having no interest in the car and subsequently enlisted in the armed forces. Based on this he decided to sell the car. This owner purchased it from his neighbor, who is the son of the original owner, an elderly female. So technically I am the fourth owner. I possess the clear, sate of California title and it is in my name. This Mustang was originally purchased on July 27 1965, from Burton Motors, Sacramento CA. & has always been registered in California. The previous owner replaced the single brake master cylinder system to a dual set up. He also replaced brake lines and rebuilt the original carb. (the date correct FoMoCo tab remains). I added a new dash pad and battery. The engine and transmission operate fine. The car traverses easily at 70 mph and the suspension gives a solid feel. The four wheel manual drum brakes stop the car as expected. However, with most older cars there is probably a bit of room for improving performance. There are not many of these old cars around, like this, which still maintain their original body panels, let alone original paint. All glass is original Car-Lite. The front windshield does have a small crack on the passenger side. I have inspected the car extensively and failed to locate any rust other than light formations on the exterior paint. These areas include the front valance above the bumper, underneath the rain gutters and underneath the tail light panel above the rear bumper. The car still maintains a beautiful shine, but the finish is a bit tired. There are minor door dings, dents & scratches. There have been no modifications to this vehicle other than updating the brake master cylinder, replacing the fuel tank & exhaust (muffler & pipe). Engine v-belts, shocks, brake pads & standard wear items have been replaced over the years. Imagine…no cut-up interior panels or radio bezels, bondo, painted-over rust…notta! I haven’t had much behind the wheel time and have probably logged underneath 200 miles on this car. I took it out of the garage today and washed it prior to photographing it for this listing. I then took it out for a drive to ensure that everything works properly and it does. I encourage any potential bidder to stop-by and inspect the car, prior to bidding. There is a lot to like about this car and if you are in the market I wouldn’t let this one pass by. This car is being sold as is & where is. No warranty is expressed or implied. The car is located in California - 95618. I can accommodate any appointments with potential buyers or shipping representatives with a bit of prior notice. The car will not be released until all funds have been deemed as "cleared" with my financial institution. Once the transaction has been completed I would like to relinquish the car to the new owner ASAP, as I do not have the room for long time storage. Use the ebay “ask the seller a question” tab to get in touch and I will respond ASAP – Thanks. On Mar-31-12 at 10:58:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of interest from over-seas bidders. I will, for a fee paid in advance, deliver this car to the Port of Oakland, California, USA. The fee will include the cost of renting a transport trailer, fuel, mileage & time. Expect this fee to be $500.00 USD. This fee would include the trailer rental ($120.00), 150 mile round trip @ $00.50 per mile ($75.00), 15 gallons of fuel @ $4.55 gallon ($68.25) + any public road tolls. Any other fees relating to the port would also have to be paid in advance and all the logistics would have to be done by the winning bidder (you tell me where to take it). All relevant information relating to the delivery to the port will be provided to me well in advance. I am not available Thursday through Saturday. I have allotted up to six hours to complete this task and any delay over two hours of this time frame, or any unreasonable accommodations, due to any miscommunication of relevant information, or any situation beyond my control i.e. a strike of dock workers, natural disaster, shipping company malfunctions, causing extension of this time period will deem my obligations as being met and I will keep the fee charged for transporting the car to the port. I mention this only because I am not willing to spend the night or wait for prolonged periods at the dock or willing to return on another day, without further compensation.
