1958 BMW Isetta 300 (restored) When I was a kid, I had eleven of these and a bunch of parts that I sold in Hemming Motor News. Being a kid, I didn’t appreciate them and sold them all. About six years ago a friend of mine found two 300’s, a 250, a parts car and a 600 Limo. He gave me one of the 300’s for a project car. It was a labor of love for me taking four years to complete. Now I’m on to another project and looking for a good home for this 300. This little baby starts and runs great. It looks like a cute little bumblebee. I entered it in one show and won a peoples choice award, as it was mostly a Mustang and vette show but the car still turns heads and puts smiles on everyone’s faces. The car has gone through an extensive frame-up restoration with bodywork and paint done by the local Sussex Technical School body shop with the assistance of their instructor. The seats were rebuilt in Manheim, Pennsylvania and a shop in Greenwood, Delaware completed the interior pockets. The rear, transmission, dyno start and engine have been rebuild by Bill Rogers of South Carolina. Bill gave me a DVD of the engine and trany rebuild. Bill Rogers is renowned in the Isetta circle as one of the best and I was very appreciative that he did the work! I have aluminum mud flaps that I never got around to putting on the car. New parts are the top, radial tires, brakes (including the lining), clutch, and motor mounts. The car has less than 300 miles on it and the vehicle has always been garage kept. Car features are sunroof, all good glass, sliding windows, 2+-gallon tank with reserve, 4-speed transmission, one-cylinder engine, original ashtray, original jack, heater and luggage rack. I do have a little shifting problem in the linkage but other than that, it does run great.
