Vehicle Detail

1988 Pontiac Formula Firebird One Owner 38,514 original miles Original Window Sticker Ordered at Abeloff Pontiac, Stroudsburg PA, in January of 1988 Car has always been garage kept and the paint shines like new. I would call the interior immaculate. No rips, tears, or fading. The only snow this car has ever seen has been thru the garage window. (Seriously) 305 TPI (Tuned Port Injection) WS6 Suspension Package T-Tops Red Exterior Black Cloth Interior (Perfect condition) Power Steering Power Brakes (4 wheel Disc) Power Windows Power Hatch Release Cruise Control Tilt Wheel Air Conditioning Kenwood hi output car stereo system am/fm/cassette, 10 Band EQ, Custom sub enclosure with 10” subs, separate midranges and tweeters. Each set of speakers, front, rear, and Subs, have their own amplifiers. 2-100 watt minimum RMS for midrange and subs, front speakers are run on a 25watt amp. The original cost for this system in April of 1988 was over $2500.00. Still thumps like the day it was installed. (Am/Fm stereo and original speakers included in car purchase.) Custom Floor mats with Firebird Logo (Front) Posi rear with lower gear ratio ordered from factory 16” Aluminum wheels. The wheels were just completely stripped of all epoxy coating, polished, and re-cleared last year. Over 20 hours went into the stripping and refinishing of the wheels. They look great! New Yokahama P245/50/16 Z-Rated Performance Tires New gas operated Hood strut cartridges New gas operated Hatch strut cartridges New hood liner Car cover And I’m sure I am forgetting something but car has all options that were available in 1988 with the 305 TPI T-top option packages. Car is in very good condition overall but does have 1 flaw. . The rear wing has a couple of cracks in it as you can see in the picture I provided. For those of you who are familiar with these cars you know the stuff they made the spoiler out of wasn’t very durable. Easy enough to buy a new replacement fiberglass spoiler right here on Ebay, or look for a used one and have it painted and replaced. The car looks and runs fantastic. All original paperwork such as manuals and window sticker will be included with the sale of the car. Just get it registered and inspected and you are ready to go. Anyone local is more than willing to come and check out the car in person. Just email me with your phone # to set up a time to take a look. . Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. $500.00 deposit due the day the auction closes. Balance due in 7 business days. Cash or Certified check only. The check must clear before the vehicle is released to you. No international sales please. Thanks for looking and good luck! . On Mar-25-12 at 08:11:30 PDT, seller added the following information: ********UPDATE******** Some folks have had some additional questions so i thought i'd answer them all the best i can. Was the car undercoated? Yes, it was done by the dealer before i picked it up. It is all intact. Is there any rust under the car? Not that i can see. The underside of the car is in great condition. How is the exhaust? Good shape, no rust thru the muffler, tailpipes, catalytic converter, etc. Exhause tips do have a tiny bit surface rust starting just on the tips, but thats it. It will certainly go thru PA inspection with no problems. And if you keep the car in the garage, you should get another 24 years out of them easily. How are the brakes? Good condition, all work well, fronts have about 60% pad life left, rear are even better. What is the condition of the paint? The paint is in very good condition. It shines like new and the car does not need to be repainted. Are there any stone chips or scratches in the paint? Yeah, after all it's a 24 year old car. Whenever i would get a chip or scratch i always compunded it out the best i could or touched up the chips wuth duplicolor. None of the chips ever went past the primer so none of them ever rusted. As far as scratches , they were only ever really in the clearcoat and did not go down to bare metal. so, i consider them more of a nuisance than anything. Nothing that even really is noticeable unless you are 8" away from the car. Why am i selling? Time for something new and fun. It's time to let someone else enjoy the car. I have enjoyed it for a long time, i've taken very good care of it, and for 24 years old it looks damn good! If it dosen't sell it's only going to keep moving up in value. I hope i've answered everyone's questions and happy bidding!
