About the Vehicle: The Willys Jeep Station Wagon was a two and four-door utility vehicle produced from 1946-1965. Over 300,000 were made during a very successful run. Up for sale is a Charity Donated1957 Willys 2-door station wagon with a manual transmission. The donor is at least the second owner. He reportedly purchased it from a father and son who had re-painted it in the current orange color and attempted to restore it. Cosmetically Exterior: It was reported to us that the vehicle has been repainted, so the paint is not original and has no shine but has a nice patina finish. There does appear to be some slight surface rust. The donor mentioned that there is some rust/rot and “bondo” from previous repairs. Interior: Inside, the interior shows its age but looks complete without any major issues. Vinyl surfaces are cracking. The steering wheel is cracking. No gauges work including the odometer, which reads 41,182.8 and is not original. The vehicle is being represented as and sold with “true mileage unknown” (TMU). Mechanically Someone replaced the engine with a Chevrolet engine. The engine does not run and is missing the fuel pump. We do not know the condition of the engine or mechanical condition of the vehicle. There is a Differential cover inside the vehicle. We do not know if it is from the vehicle or not. It appears to have replacement shock absorbers newer Radial tires and new wheels. This classic American vehicle needs a new home. This Willys is a very desirable vehicle that appears to be an excellent candidate for a restoration project for the qualified person. This vehicle is located at a vehicle storage facility in Denver, CO, and must be “towed” from that facility. This vehicle may not be driven off site. This vehicle may not be inspected prior to bidding.
